bleedhoosier Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Im done...I'm done with terrible track records outside of being a "giant killer" at home. This has turned into us being some kind of 2nd tier program who a reputation as "big programs better watch out for"... it's kind of a joke, us being IU and all...He needs to go quickly before recruiting takes a hit and we spend 3 or 4 years down and out trying to rebuild again.Sent from my SCH-I545 using BtownBanners mobile app hsrtxp, MikeRoberts, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

Seems every time I am convinced he has to go we beat some folks and as soon as I think we are in a good spot, Ft Wane and Nebraska things happen Better get used to it. That's how it will be, Crean won't lose enough to fire him (he'll keep padding his record with the extra fluffy cupcakes) but won't win at a high enough level. It'll still be that way after Glass gives him an extension with a blank check attached. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Trish Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 We must not offer him another extension. We cannot put the program into that position. Unless he pulls us into the final four or better in the next two years, we need to let him walk when his contract is completed. http://www.tomcreanbuyout.com/clock/ His contract runs until 2020. After July 1st,2017, it's only a million dollar buy-out. Will we buy him out beforehand? Probably not.. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

It was one fluke year, he's just not good enough. I agree he shouldn't get an extension, but I'll be floored if Glass doesn't extend him. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Despite how weak the conference is. If we continue to have more wins like this and Ft Wayne then I think they will negotiate an early exit ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
AKHoosier Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 If they do make a change, we just have to hope and pray that Brad Stevens and his wife are unhappy living in Boston. Money is a huge deal, but it never has been the biggest deal with Stevens. Because honestly if a change is made and Stevens turns us down, I honestly don't know who I'd pick if I had the ability to choose. Hoosier_roots, Trish, hsrtxp and 1 other 4 Quote

Feathery Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 When IU stops being afraid of having a dominant coach with power, then and only then will IU get back to being elite. Crean isnt the answer. Extensions mean nothing, just keep the buyout low. Glass has proven he isnt afraid of making a change. Will he with the flagship program? I know they are afraid of 2 things: 1) a coach with too much power 2) a Kelvin Sampson type issue Crean checks both of those boxes and he wins enough to keep the administration happy. (At least thats what Im being told). Basically IU basketball is in a good place, just not a great place. That is evidently ok woth this administration. When I was told this, my love for IU basketball began to wane. Now losses to Ft Wayne and Nebraska dont bother me. I laugh and think, well the administration is getting what they want. They get sell outs, huge revenues, and smile to the bank. MikeRoberts, Hoosier_roots, Trish and 1 other 4 Quote

Just get it done and make the best offer known on college basketball for fuckinsake!Starting to think Chris Holtman is looking like a strong candidate. They have a strong recruiting class coming in (he can recruit). He is building his own strong team, BS sort of left a weak team entering a tough conference. Holtman took over after the other coach flamed out and has recruited, prepared and coached this group of guys and is having good results. Not there yet but one to watch.
