After Creans first five years there was some similarities. Year 5 Crean won his first conference title and had DWade and the FF run. Archie may not make s FF run but is ready to win his first conference title too. The gauge is what happens next for Archie. Does he have 5 following years where they finish 8th, 9th, 5th, 4th and 5th in his conference and only 1 NCAA win or does he stay at the top of his conference. At the time Crean and Marquette were in the C-USA right? They had Louisville, Cincy and Memphis in there at the time. The A-10 isn't a bad conference. Dayton, VCU, Rhode Island, Saint Joe's, GW, Davidson. It isn't a powerhouse but those are teams that are tough. Quote

If he wants to stay in the NBA, which I think he might, then I think this is a much harder search, whenever it happens, than many realize. The next hire has to be the right one, not necessarily the sexy one. I want to win games not the press conference. Just wanted to give you props because this is such a great way to put it and I think everyone needs to see it for 2 reasons. First, so people don't go crazy if it's NOT Stevens and then panic when it's not someone we've all heard of; and second so people are patient with the end of season process because failing Stevens, there is no "slam dunk" guy out there. If it's NOT available, he's not a candidate. And he'll never say a word about it. If it IS available sometime, I don't believe it's as big a reach as some people think it is. You spread it out to OG, JMor, Max, and Colin. Troy hurts this team. Good coaches know you play off of him on offense and allow him to drive into multiple defenders for an easy run out on offense. Colin has consistently delivered the same performs pretty much all year. We need increased production from OG and Morgan to replace Troy's points and rebounds. Quote
