IUrocker Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) Definitely has been a different feel on the boards the past couple of days....people getting worried and whatnot. Is there anyone out there who still think there should be no doubt Crean will be gone? Edited March 14, 2017 by IUrocker Hurryin'Hoosier317 1 Quote

Pass some more of that soup and mashed potatoes will you? [Dr. Szell was Dustin Hoffman's dentist in Marathon Man. bigrod Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Kind of running out of things to talk about, so I had a funny thought today. In every way I can think of, Tom Crean is the exact opposite of Bob Knight. I mean, I could make a list. From game management, to media relations, tempo, strategy... I really can't think of one way they are not opposed.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app TrueHoosier62, HooHooHoo22 and Josh 3 Quote
TrueHoosier62 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Finally got home and had a chance to read Doyel's column. First, I have a healthy skepticism for people who tell me they're the most transparent, honest, etc., etc. because almost without exception, that's bullsh!t. Having said that, and if for only the entertainment value of it, his column said enough "right" things about the situation to give it a thumbs up. I still think he plays both sides of the middle, but give him credit when at last he finally notices, like so many others did years ago, that the emperor has no clothes. Bob Knight for all his faults was a leader. Its why players he treated like crap still liked him. Tom Crean lets them have whatever they want so they will like him and instead they just walk all over him. You can lead through fear, you can lead through respect. You can not lead by just giving a group everything they want IE Guaranteeing somebody they will start. RedsIUfan, GloryDays and Hoosierfan2017 3 Quote

VO5 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 So apparently there is a rift on the team. Blackmon is a part of it and Johnson possibly. Not surprised, although I will say rob has been my favorite player the past 2 years. Hope he doesn't go anywhere after the season bleedhoosier and Tom White 2 Quote

I think it has to frustrate players to see him get as much PT as he does when he doesn't even try on D. I think thats a good chunk of why we improved when he went down. For me with Blackmon, it's his selfishness. I've seen him drive in the lane with 3 guys on him and get swatted too many times. That's got to get old for his teammates. If James had the same mindset on O that he did against Iowa in the BTT he could've had a monster assist year. Str8Hoosiers and Tom White 2 Quote

Hope he doesn't go anywhere after the season Well, I have to admit that JBJ & family were the first I thought of when news of internal strife was going around. If for no other reason than the fact that his parents have been at pretty much every game over the last month. Glass's decision to forego the home game probably wasn't real popular with Mr. & Mrs. Blackmon. Quote

All I've seen is nothing but speculation at the very most. This is exactly why we should all be hoping the season ends tonight. The entire storyline has become one giant phone game. One person says "Tom Crean is interested in Missouri." Ten people later, it gets twisted into "Tom Crean bought interest in a company called Miss Who." This entire thing has gone so far beyond lame at this point, it's ridiculous. cappymo14, woodenshoemanHoosierfan, biteoftheapple and 4 others 7 Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I still believe sanity and reason will prevail in the end and the change will be made as soon as our NIT time is over---so I am going to TRY to quit fretting and root my Hoosiers on to victory. Winning or losing a NIT game isn't going to change anything. However you want to cut it---the season has been a huge disappointment with great talent. Again--I like Tom and appreciate his dedication and hard work. I was on the Crean train for a long time because I wanted to give him a chance to prove himself. He has had plenty of time and just wasn't able to get it done on a consistent basis. No hard feelings and I wish him well. Just ready to find the coach who will get us the rest of the way there!
