I know we all have thrown out a lot of names for a replacement but man, this hire needs to be BIG TIME.  No effin' around this time.  I'm so damn tired of reading other fans telling us to get with the times and how IUBB is irrelevant anymore.  Its time to stop screwin' around and do what it takes to bring the absolute BEST candidate to our sidelines.  PERIOD.

Old article about Sean Miller. Interesting though and as you read through it you can feel that there is this tension Arizona has about trying to keep him. Near the end, it is interesting to see that the football team is struggling somewhat financially. Perhaps this could be why Sean would leave what seems to be a great place. Note that the article does not suggest that Sean is wanting to leave, in fact it seems he is happy there but there is a lot of discussion about money and him staying.

Newkirk - Not the thread for it really, but I'm totally digging Newkirk lately. His speed is incredible and as long as he keeps his head on straight, he absolutely is a needed commodity on the team. He was near useless 2 months ago and now he is back to hitting 3s and so strong on the drives. Almost like Yogi bullying his way into the hoop. Definitely improving down the stretch. I'd like to retain him for next year.

The issue with "extend or fire" has to do with recruiting continuity. Not that Crean is burning any barns when it comes to recruiting of late, but other schools can use it against Crean and Indiana, and it can be enough to sway a kid based on "if I commit to Crean, will he be there for my 4 years at Indiana"... as I see it, that's the real reasoning around the push to extend him or cut him loose.

I'm personally tired of "rumors" although they make this thread freaking fun!  I'm ready for this season to be done and the FACTS to roll in.

I get that part but Sean Miller has a top 5 class before his extension was signed. Kids know if they are good enough most the time a school will keep them on. It definitely shouldnt be an excuse for top ranked kids knowing 2 years is all their probably giving him. If he stayed by mid season next year we would all know. Glass would either be working on an extension or not which means he is done. Im pretty sure schools use him against us anyways lol. All it takes is a few memes.

On the 247 board a few weeks ago, Hoosierhoopster claimed to have a source telling him that Crean would be here next year. I never knew him to have sources before, and I would have been more inclined to believe him if he wasn't the 2nd biggest Crean apologist on that board (after HTD), or if he hadn't been responding to posters wanting Crean gone.

Just to add to the rumors. I have a friend who works as a chiropractor in bloomington and some girl came in claiming she was sleeping with lynol anderson said that Crean was out and Billy Donovan was hired.

I don't believe Donovan is already hired but take it for what it's worth. At this point it's hard to believe anything floating around but seems like more good news for hoosier fans.
