Man,.... after reading this guys established program and attention to detail, we could very well see major, player performance upgrades across the board here at IU. I would love to hear what the team thinks of this new strength guy compared to the previous group.

I love this quote from him, with says a lot about maximizing, safety and preserving....

Owings explained. “We use a system called Nord board that tracks our hamstring strength but also asymmetry knowing that if one is stronger than the other, the chance of injury is gonna be higher. So how do we get that guy in a safer spot?

Ballou and Rhea used technology too, doesn't say what the differences are though.

There’s probably some new technology since Ballou and Rhea left IU 4 years ago.  Not sure how much we were fully taking advantage of that since then.

I don't think Wellman our former guy from the NFL was using it at all. I think Owings got some of his stuff from those two at Alabama.

They were big/ are big on tracking "explosiveness". Top speeds, they'd measure how explosive their bench press reps were, etc.

Given where IU football has been, we need every advantage we can get. If we can train better to lessen the chance of injury and keep our best players on the field longer, that can mitigate our depth issues to some degree.

Come the end of November we'll either all be giddier than hell over the season we had and making our bowl game reservations or we'll be saying WTF happened.

Exactly right! They say, "there's no fool like an old fool", and for some reason this old fool is buying what CCC is selling.

I could be mistaken, but I believe Rhea (currently with the Saints) developed his own system and is always evolving based on evidence based outcomes.

Side note: I strongly believe the 2019 and 2020 success has a direct correlation to Ballou and Rhea.

You really can’t ask for much more from a kid you’re almost certainly not gonna get. He has done the staff a big ol’ solid.

Never say never. Lol. When he decides to transfer here from fill in the blank, there'll be a jersey waiting for him.
