The fact is as I said you all were through the roof when we beat Kansas and because we got upset you all are acting like the world is ending and we got lucky against Kansas? Top teams get upset all the time, it's college basketball it happens. Same thing happened when we got blown out by Duke last season and everyone wanted to call it a season then. Then we went on a nice run and beat UK in the tournament and everyone was excited again. I'm sorry but I'm not going to let 1 game throw me into a hissy fit like it has some on here. Reason I stayed away after that loss. Knew this board would erupt. I hated that loss as much as anyone but it wasn't the end of the world. It's early on in the season and there will be growing pains within the season as well as within games. Big test Wednesday and it will show where IU is compared to the big boys. Just hoping for a competitive game. Dalton26, IUsafety, pappy1865 and 1 other 4 Quote

If we were 20 games in and this happened I'd be worried but there is a lot of basketball left to be played. pappy1865 1 Quote

When I said lucky I meant that we went to overtime and all of their players fouled out. We played a hell of a game that night. But I'm not gonna sit here and act like we are world beaters over that game, at the same act like we suck because of a loss against ipfw. My whole stance is that we need to improve on a lot of things for this team to go really far. I love this team this year but it has a lot of growing to do which is totally fine for a "young" team. My biggest issue is that our big men don't get enough touches, and we shoot way too many 3's, other than that we got small things to work on. I can see this team going really far this year. bleedhoosier Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Will see if there's a replay but it's worth not getting worked up about just yet. We have all laughed at MSU and Louisville for dropping some head scratchers early on, in previous years. Let's wait a few more games and see how the team looks. We have a lot of new pieces working things out on the floor right now. No one looks settled in out there except for Rojo, OG and Blackmon. Even TB looks out of sync floating around the perimeter. Uspshoosier Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 No one said people shouldn't state their opinion. Dalton's opinion (and my opinion) is that people are attributing too much negativity into a cupcake game that we won by 35 points. With our top scorer sitting out as well. Top teams play down to their competition all the time. I'm not saying they should but it's just reality. I watched Louisville play to their competition and let old dominion take them to overtime in the Bahamas. I watched Iowa st play to their competition and let the sycamores come within a 3 from scott in pulling an upset. I have watched Xavier play Lehigh and only win by 3 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Dalton26 and IUsafety 2 Quote

The Ola Depot Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I think we all have forgotten Crean's comments before the season started after the Kansas game. This team is not even close to their full potential and where most of them will eventually be. We are a good team and will be even better later. It's about how you're playing when you're getting closer to the end. I agree and have stated multiple times I think we have a lot to work on and the people who are talking about that aren't the ones my posts were towards. It's more of the posts that say "we're bad" "we shouldn't be ranked" "this team isn't that good" etc etc. VO5 and FortWayneHoosier 2 Quote

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but does this mean we essentially turn it over on 1 out of every 4 possessions? I'm just unclear if kenpom uses anything else to come up with the turnover rate. If so, that's hideous. Imagine how many more shots or free throws we could make if we brought that number down just a little. Quote
