DeBoer’s record as a head coach is 113-17. That’s pretty adept. He’s killed it at every level. I think Alabama is going to need a short adjustment period because I’d imagine DeBoer’s culture and way of doing things is a little different than they’ve been used to for the past couple decades. If Alabama decides they don’t want to be patient, he’ll have a long, long, long list of suitors.

Yea. Good point. If they would have told us we need the fans there to help the team (i) get the best final score for our playoff push, (ii) prep for the conference schedule, and (iii) show out for recruits, that would resonate a lot more with me and give me a sense of purpose to stay. Just my $0.02.

I think what annoyed me most was your 2nd paragraph. It reads like it was written by someone in marketing that’s completely clueless. Cig can scream from the rooftops that I need to be in my seat for 4 quarters and I’ll probably even listen. He’s earned it. I don’t need some marketing nerd telling me to stick around for an entire Kennesaw State football game.

Curious how other ticket holders felt about getting this. It rubbed me the wrong way, personally. Trying to solve a problem (that just about every school in the nation faces, by the way) by shaming the people that are buying the tickets (that you just jacked up prices on for this dogs**t schedule, by the way) would not be how I conduct business. Per usual for this group, it’s lame and out of touch at best, but as I’ve said about 100 times the last few years, I don’t understand a lot of things that the IU ticket/marketing department does.

Mendoza, i doubt will be as accurate as Rourke, but he'll throw and complete passes Rourke could never throw. And, I'll bet Mendoza already has more yards rushing than Rourke had all last season.

North has been pretty solid recently. I think they’ve won the last 2 against South. And I’m not sure the last time South had a losing season.

Here’s why people that hate Friday night CFB have a point. Next Friday, IU hosts Indiana State. At approximately halftime, Bloomington South vs North and Terre Haute South vs North will both kickoff. Big, local crosstown rivalries. It sucks for people with rooting interests at both levels.

Games to keep an eye on this Saturday: #11 Illinois (1-0) at Duke (1-0) - ESPN Noon ET Iowa (1-0) at #16 Iowa St. (2-0) - FOX Noon ET Oklahoma St (1-0) at #6 Oregon (1-0) - CBS/Paramount+ 3:30PM ET All of these games have impact for IUFB down the road and will give all of us a better picture regarding what kind of teams these opponents are, meaning contenders or pretenders. Oregon should handle OK State but the other two might be close games. Personally, I'd like to see all the B1G lose and realize that will impact SOS for us. But the more that lose in the conference the higher the chances of us looking to planning a weekend in Indianapolis during Conference Championship weekend. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself though.

IMO, too early in the staff's tenure to get a very accurate read into how the staff prefers to operate / strategy for roster building. We will get a sense for that over time after a few cycles are under their belt IMO. I think cost was an "overweighted" factor in their first cycle because they had to fill 13 spots, so they couldn't pay top dollar for some guys. HS kids being the more affordable way to build makes sense intuitively. Don't think players like Rippey are "build" the program types though. And they definitely won't accept getting paid like one. Point being, bang for buck, IMO highly rated HS point guards aren't the best value in this market / are big gambles to take. Tying up big money for a guy who may not be able to deliver what you need from him. I'd rather get the next Javon Small than Rippey or any other freshman. You pair a guy like that with some combo of Allmond, Taylor and Muurinen + some portal guys, you got a pretty solid roster... IMO

Line could have been: - 19/31 for 253 yards (8.16 y/a), 1 TD - 6 rushes for 33 yards (5.5 ypc), 1 TD Lots to work on for sure but also not as bad as people who didn’t watch the game are making it sound.
