Yes, he is. And I get why people who aren’t hardcore don’t love Brunson and SGA foul hunting or the Celtics shooting a million 3’s, but, man, if someone doesn’t like the Pacers style of play, they just need to admit they don’t actually like basketball.

In fairness to Doris on that one, if she’d fleshed that out a little more, “How does a guy that’s 6’2” 190 pounds with no special traits and not a shooter make his into way into the NBA” is actually a really good story. Of course, the answer is having more want to than pretty much anyone ever. Tell ya what, I didn’t like the Pacers in this series even after GM 1, but, man, that Q4 was eye-opening. OKC looked flat worn out. Their pace of play and all those tiered actions they run, Jesus, they’re a straight up meat grinder. They never let you take a breadth.

This is the key. Both him and Chet have looked spent at times. I don't recall who said it, before this playoff run, a player said the Pacers were the hardest team in the league to play. Last year, Joe Mazzula said the Pacers series was the hardest even though they swept them. This year's run is one for the books. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/the-pacers-are-halfway-to-winning-the-unlikeliest-championship-in-recorded-nba-history/

I do not love Brunson or SGA foul-hunting (faking and flopping at least half the time), at all, but I LOVE the Pacers' style of play.

The quick turnaround is huge for the Pacers imo. OKC was absolutely worn out with about 8 minutes left last night. In the probably 60+ games I've watched this season, I don't remember seeing the Pacers look that tired at any point. Disinterested, sure, but not flat out exhausted. Feels like Rick is once again playing the long con on an unexpecting victim.

Pacers just need to score 110+ a game in this series and they gonna win the whole effin' thing. Game 4 is gonna be a dog fight. Sidenote: The history between the Canadians is fun to watch. These cats know each other that goes back a long way and you can tell. I wonder if there are any head-to-head lifetime stats between them. For example, does Nembhard have SGA's number dating back to kids? Does Mathurin have Dort's number as well? I'd be interested in those kind of stats.

Apparently, the Knicks have so far been denied requests to speak with -- Jason Kidd (Mavs), Billy Donovan (Bulls), Quin Snyder (Hawks), Ime Udoka (Rockets) and Chris Finch (Timberwolves). C'mon Knicks -- the answer is plainly obvious. It's someone you know and love ...

  13. More from NBPA Top 100 Colby Giacubeno - Masterclass performance from '26PG Taylen Kinney in the last game set. Didn't matter who the other team threw at him, he was creating space in iso's, initiating advantages in PnR's & controlling the tempo that best suited those around him. A threat in a multitude of ways whenever the ball was in his hands. Jamie Shaw - Latrell Allmond has been on of the #NBPATop100Camp biggest stock risers so far. Already among On3’s Top 25, the forward has been a two-way terror, creating extra possessions & finishing plays.

An NBA team going ten deep in the playoffs—Nevermind the Finals—is pretty rare. For people who only watch college ball, it’s kind of hard to explain how crazy that is in the NBA. There’s so much rest that teams almost always drop a guy from their regular rotation. Of course, teams rarely press in the NBA and the Pacers are making SGA run all 92 ft. Carlisle is doing a great job.

Great article on Haliburton and Carlisle, on how both have evolved and the freedom Carlisle gives hali after growing as a coach, including developing his offense around his players and not the other way around. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45493117/how-rick-carlisle-impacts-tyrese-haliburton-indiana-pacers Exactly what any team wishing to compete at the top needs.

  18. 2024-2025 definitely had pot holes and lacked recruitment of more thoroughbred horses over the years caught up with IU Ladies and disabled them from continuing to reach new heights….to the extent of T. Moren BRIEFLY questioning her own future (per Indianapolis Star and Bloomington Herald Times article My take is ….very tiring maybe, or it’s just because she cares…….Be interesting to see how these road repairs work….how the new road construction will proceed, produce and perform in the future IU Ladies basketball seasons.

  21. I saw that the change for the women included a technical if they lost the challenge. Kind of dumb. It's not like they have a bunch of challenges they can use to abuse the system, just the 1. Edit: I read the release from the NCAA. This actually makes sense. The women don't need a timeout to challenge, but if they do that then fail the challenge they'll be assessed the technical for excessive timeouts. So they actually have more options to use the challenge than the men do. The wording from the release: Teams will not be required to have a timeout to make a video review challenge in NCAA women's basketball competition. However, a failed challenge will result in a technical foul for an excessive timeout.

  23. If it's possible to say the Beach Boys are underrated, I'm going to say that. Beautiful music and melodies. Brian Wilson the largest of the contributors was a true musical genius. Well stated Stu. Good Vibrations needs about 5 straight listens after work tonight.

Oh wow; a rough week. Brian Wilson died today. One of the truly immortal, genius composers of any era, who was also blessed with the voice of an angel. His work will live on for generations and will be rediscovered and sourced for inspiration, and guidance by musicians and composers long, long after he is gone. It's hard to encapsulate Brian Wilson in a few clips, but I will try to do so in two: 1) Angelic vocal and musical beauty: Surf's Up was composed and recorded entirely by Brian during a period of extreme mental and physical decline (and at a young age). His voice was still intact, and the all too real all-encompassing sadness is undeniable, with or without lyrics. If you only listen to one minute of Brian Wilson singing, make it this cut starting at the 45 second mark: 2) Pop composition mastery...Good Vibrations. An orchestra, extraordinary tempo, mood, harmonic, and structure twists and turns, all presented in a package that the masses couldn't get enough of. By the time this was released and performed Brian was out of commission, but he wrote and arranged every bit of it. Sublime:

  26. Today and tomorrow, players will play a total of 4 games. Coaching staffs permitted to attend and DDV, Adams, KJ & Clark are all there watching various IU targets. Some early commentary. Caleb Holt was invited but is not attending. He was at Alabama earlier and is on a UV at Vandy today. When you're that highly ranked really nothing left to prove. Jamie Shaw - Arafan Diane was easily the most physically dominant player in the early session. Alex Karamanos - 2026 Trey Thompson is one of the biggest stock risers in country. Trent Markwith - Team Jones is already playing with impressive chemistry at NBPA Top 100 and won their 1st game comfortably. 2026 F Latrell Almond leads them with 23 points, knocking down 4 3’s. Really good performance from him.

https://x.com/PGATUOR/status/1932528582556872805 Thoughts? I’m thinking Oakmont from the tips set up for a US Open an 18 is gonna be something like +2 GIR per hole and probably 3.5 putts. So that’s 135 as a starting point. Don’t see any way it’s any better than that and after getting their brains beat out for 7-8 holes it could get a whole lot worse.

  29. Love the new video challenge rule. It’s been really good for the NBA. Now if they can just make the finger twirl to signal a review binding, we’ll really be cooking. That rivals the VAR signal in soccer for “infuriating things that players do.”
