  4. Yes! Big Ten Network revenue per school is expected to be $100 million per year with the new contract. That's so tangible I can smell it.

  5. I really don't understand the pearl clutching on this. It's brilliant business, it keeps the Big Ten relevant, and it brings some excitement to the conference on a national level. Most of the people who are crying about the poor kids are not listening to the kids opinions on this. Instead they're using the kids as an excuse to promote their own interests. All the interviews I've heard with the athletes have positive opinions. This is progress, boomers. Embrace it or die off like the Big 12 and Pac 10 are.

  7. I'm not sure of all the Ts & Cs. I know the last SEC/ESPN deal was done at the end of 2020, but it doesn't start till 2024, and last for 10 years. And it happened before TX and OK jumped. So I'm assuming either they have something in the contract that addresses team additions, or they will likely have to renegotiate an addendum or two. At this point, both confs have 16 committed, but everyone knows the B10 is going to min 18 (public knowledge they're waiting on ND, and they're not going to have an odd number). So you have to imagine the SEC will make a move in the next 6 months to at minimum go up to 18. I'm guessing they stop at 20, but would not be shocked to see them go to 24.

^This is fantastic Get fitted for irons at Purdue Person's. Focus on shots from 100 yards and in on the driving range before your rounds or whenever you go to the range. Pick a target 100 yards out and hit 1000 golf balls at it until you're getting somewhere close. Add a little distance each week/round/practice. The swing from 100 yards should be similar as you move out but it's easier to start. Take extra time at the chipping/putting green before each round too. That's where you'll really drop strokes.

  11. Lots of posters and IU fans think so. The scouts and recruiting analysts like him too, but less than we’d hope for. What’s crazy to me is seeing Leal next to Hulls that Hulls had the career he had and Leal is fightingfor 11h spot. Both Mr Basketballs. Leal is much bigger and athletic. Here’s to hoping he can shoot it like Hulls some day. as far as Cupps, I’m fully on the wait and see approach. Coaches are always going to to want to play their most athletic options first. But if he does every thing he’s asked to do, maybe he’ll contribute earlier than I expect. A lot comes down to making shots and having guys he can pass to that make shots.

Has anyone pointed out that when he played with the North Coast Blue Chips his coaches are his father and the father of his teammate, Bronny James? At what point is a conference no longer a conference and becomes just a loose association of teams. We haven't had a true, in my mind, conference champion since we quit playing each team twice. I have no idea how that gets sorted out in an equitable manner.

  19. A sweet and sour comment from Lunardi: "As for historic impact in men's basketball, no right-thinking person could argue the Big Ten is a good thing for the Bruins or Trojans. Is either going to outgun the Michigan States and Indianas on a year-in, year-out basis? And the example of Nebraska football sliding toward irrelevance in the Big Ten is a not-so-insignificant corollary. Just read an article on conf expansion. Geared around most valuable FB programs (2019 Forbes list). From Forbes, the most valuable FB programs not currently in the SEC or B10, are... Clemson, WA, FSU, and OR. So not shocked OR and WA were already trying to get in line....

Cold AF in south bend?… it’s a few degrees colder in South bend on avg than bloomington, literally a few degrees There are very few schools in America that can even make an argument that they have better anything than ND when it comes to football.

Basic analysis above is worth watching. My personal reasons are: Blend well with new entrants (usc, ucla, and probably nd joins) Elite Academics and olympic sports fit with BIG I’m anti Oregon since they don’t fit the academic profile well and may fall off a cliff ratings/relevance wise when Phil knight/Nike are gone. Washington is a good fit, I just want the option of hiring DeBoer if Allen continues iufb’s downward trajectory/awfulness.

  29. That was my point. Even before USC/UCLA, the B1G media rights outside of the BTN we're with $1B. That works out to ~$70B/school (assuming an even split). Now it'll be worth even more. This is all on top of the BTN. I don't think that network is expected to produce $100M pretty school. It's the combined media payments which are that number. USC and UCLA joining undoubtedly increases the sold media rights value and will also increase BTN subscriptions.

  30. If the expansion is ongoing i think another package deal is likely Oregon - Washington. Makes sense for several reasons including helping USC - UCLA. Or Stanford - Cal. The academic side is compelling to me and a good fit in FB and bball So i can’t see UNC happening as locked in a long term deal, but UNC - Duke? Talk about a bombshell

I've been to 20+ IU FB games, 20+ PU games, and 20+ ND games in my life. My father had ND season tix to ND for years when I was a kid. I had IU and ND season tix for several years before moving south. My best friend is a PU grad, and I've taken him to my games, and he's taken me to his. If you think IU or PU has a better FB game day than ND, not sure what to tell you. 6th best... lol. They played UGA to a one score game twice in the last 5 years, which is better than most. They got clobbered by Bama a few times, but so did every one else. But hey, the B10 is praying that the 6th best SEC teams joins the B10 lol.. And Cinci is a pretty dumb example too. They were undefeated last season. Beat IU at IU too. And Cinci almost knocked off UGA the year before.

Just read a few articles on the current landscape.... Many are saying the PAC is ready to implode. While talking about unity, etc. to each other, internally they're all in panic mode. Seen several articles saying the B12 will likely go after the AZ teams, if they haven't made the call already. A lot of folks think a PAC/B12 merger is the most logical outcome Overall, once the ND domino falls, you have to think the B10 will raid the PAC, B12, and ACC for 3-4 more teams, likely at least one more coming from the PAC. And the SEC is likely on the phone to ACC schools. Guessing we'll end up with the SEC and B10 having 20 each, and a PAC/B12 merger of 20 teams. What's left of the ACC likely to fade away or cobble something together with the AAC. Fun stuff lol

ASU is also the more popular of the two, at least in Phoenix (where I live). If be happy with either two but ASU would also be my preference. I'll admit that part of the reason is selfish since it's much closer to me.

Listen... F ND and they should never be allowed in our conference. I hope every conference denies them admittance and their phony football program dies off. This is not the 70s and 80s.

  38. Expansion will consider BB prowess, but the driver will be mostly FB status and market viewership. Anyway, my two cents in order of want Notre Dame - easily the biggest prize. NBC, who owns the ND rights through 2025, is making a huge push to outbid Fox and ESPN for the B10 rights expiring soon. Will ND forget about the history of B10 rejections, and Yost's lies? Oregon good in BB and FB softens the travel issues with USC and UCLA A Florida team. Don't care if it's FSU or Miami. Get the market. Get the fertile recruiting ground. Both have FB histories, and decent in BB. A Texas team TAMU left the big B12 to get away from UT. Now UT is joining. TAMU might be willing to jump from the SEC. Baylor - good in BB and FB. Get the market, get the recruiting geo, with either team. Helps with western footprint/travel too. Houston is dark horse. Good in BB, rising in FB, huge market. A Carolina team (don't care, UNC or Clemson) ASU - nice market, helps with the travel of other West teams Washington - nice market, helps with travel. Other comments Kansas stinks at FB. Horrid. And the market is just not huge. Louisville makes geo sense, decent FB at times, good BB, but the market is small. Cinci is kinda in the same space as Louisville. Stanford - BB and FB are declining. Fan enthusiasm is horrible, so not sure there's a big win in terms of market.

  42. When you have to skew the numbers to try to make your point you're not doing well. The last championship game a B1G team won was in 2000 (probably not a coincidence that's your starting year). In 2002 Maryland won but they were ACC at that time. Louisville vacated their championship from 2013 but Michigan still lost that game. (Were they awarded the championship or is there no winner from that year?) So the B1G had won 1 championship since 2000 and that was in 2000. Extend that timeline back 3 years to make it the last 25 years instead of 22 and each conference has won 1. I do not like the B1G style of play. Neither do a lot of recruits which is certainly part of the reason for such a long national championship drought. I'm not saying they should play the style of the PAC but they definitely need to change the style of play or the conference might have another 22 years with just 1 championship.

So, essentially they traded Brogdon for a late 1, a lottery ticket(Nesmith) and cap relief. Given where this team is, if they make good calls with the cap space, it works for me.

  44. Big 10 is not done. I expect in the not too distant future Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, and Colorado will make their case for joining. I'd bet some subset of those schools will end up in the Big Ten. Washington: 14th biggest market, good football school, AAU Oregon: 25th biggest market, good football school, NIKE $$$, AAU Stanford: 6th biggest market, elite academically, endowment $$$*, AAU Cal: 6th biggest market, may have an in as a sister school to UCLA, AAU Colorado: 17th biggest market, AAU All those schools are better fits academically with the Big Ten than the SEC, and USC and UCLA serve as local rivals facilitating the bridge. I think Notre Dame, Boston College, North Carolina, and Duke also seem like likely targets. Florida State and Miami would be great financially, but I just think it's going to be hard to pry them from the SEC where they seem like better fits. *Stanford has a $37.8B endowment... the entire Big Ten has a $75B endowment.

  45. Doubt AAU is prerequisite. I mean it's nice and all, but not having it doesn't mean you're bad. If you're a fan of rankings, US News and a few others rank universities. BC is ranked ahead of most B10 schools, and is not AAU. Miami and FSU are both ranked better than several AAU B10 schools. AZ, while an AAU school, is near 100ish. UNC is AAU, but isn't ranked all that well, and has fake classes lol. Baylor is ranked ahead of MSU, Maryland, AZ, Kansas, Rutgers, Nebraska, Overall, I think some universities might get disqualified for poor academics, but for the most part, I think it's simply more of a $$ conversation now. I hope it's not Stanford. Totally lame fans, and both BB and FB are declining. I'd be happy with OR, WA, or one of the AZ schools. My preference though, is grabbing a top ACC school or two, or a team from TX. Given USC and UCLA instigated this whole thing, not sure they cared too much about the travel to begin with. Just to level set, LA to Seattle is almost a 3 hour flight. LA to Indy (in the middle of current B10 schools) is a little over 4 hours. The time zone shift will need the game times to adjust, but the flight times are nt exactly big deltas unless you're talking about Rutgers and Maryland.

Brogdon gone. Main pieces coming back are Theis, Nesmith, and a first with zero protection. Gotta imagine we are committed to not being good next year. And the idea is get as much run for Hali, Mathurin, Duarte, and IJ. See who does and doesn't fit next to them. As long as the Cavs make the playoffs we now have 3 first round picks next year. Draft is suppose to be loaded. Can't frowm upon that
