  3. Really good Q and A with Jordan from Inside The Hall https://www.insidethehall.com/2020/03/28/q-a-class-of-2020-st-pauls-school-forward-and-iu-signee-jordan-geronimo/?fbclid=IwAR3AFifar6AUFGXSEgTO1Y-wVEJPGMr2IVD8PIwyWmtp8y3aRDJIyzVL2QM Couple of things of special note to me: 1. Plans to be in Bloomington on June 8, coronavirus permitting. 2. Geronimo averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks per game this past season 3 ... Me, as a player, I wanted to get my teammates going. I’m a team-first kind of guy. Throughout the season, I realized I needed to be more aggressive and more assertive with the ball in my hands. Before I realized that, it was kind of too late. [I think I made that observation somewhere in his thread that he was clearly their best player and needed to take charge]

  4. Nothing I've heard supports he was leaning that way. Was Purdue a player? No doubt.

Richard Mandeville!! 6’11” very athletic out of California and a national top of the top recruit. Never got the hang of it - best season at IU was 3.5 ppg, 2.1rpg. Bob Knight never coached him effectively; he was during the Collier, Reed, Miller, Patterson era of Knight at his absolute worst.

  9. Mike Roberts Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Edit: no joke, that is the catalyst for my name that I have had for like 15 years across several boards. He was THE worst basketball player I have ever seen step foot on the court for Indiana including walk-ons. The worst and just funny that he is back on the bench where he spent his entire 4 years as a player

  10. An offer to an 8th grader is not without precedent from Coach Moren. In June 2016, she offered '20 Sydney Parrish of Hamilton Southeastern who eventually committed to Oregon one of the top women's programs so I don't think for a moment this offer was for PR purposes but coach really believes this young lady as the potential to play for IU.

  12. This is funny. Archie has literally signed four players outside of Indiana in his first three classes 18,19, 20. All within the top 150, 3 in the top 100. 3 of the 4 in Big ten country. All other recruits have been from Indiana. But yes in a normal class I’m sure he would have recruited the shooting guard from Georgia ranked below 230. Give me a break. 16. In the last five years, 400 different players have started in the last five Sweet 16's. 11 were graduate transfers. *Roughly 3% of the starters from the last five Final Fours, Elite Eights, and Sweet 16's have been graduate transfers. 22. Chloe Spreen @ChloeSpreen So thankful and blessed to receive my first offer from Indiana University ProspectsNation.com Nov. 2019 on Chloe Spreen – 2024 – Bedford-North Lawrence (IN) Spreen's upside is tremendous. She has the length, skill and athleticism that NCAA Tournament schools look for and she's only in the eighth grade. In that regard, Spreen would appear to be headed for a spot in the forefront of her class regionally. Add to that her ability to shoot the ball in game with kids 3-4 grades older from beyond the arc and Spreen looks like an Elite 100 prospect in the making. Ladyballers Insider July 2019: 2024 Chloe Spreen 5’8” SG Nike Lady Gym Rats Turquoise 8th Some kids just have it, and Chloe Spreen is one of those kids. Indiana is in for a treat as Spreen showed why some feel she is the leading candidate for 2024 Miss Basketball. Or at least I do. She showcased her relentless in your face style of play vs. the Alabama Southern Starz at Nike TOC. She made several triples and even took on the daunting task of guarding top 2023 prospect Madison Booker. Time and time again, Spreen found herself in the middle of the action on both ends of the court and was effective. Spreen will be a household name in Indiana very very soon.

  28. Never knocked Creans players. Most importantly, they were IU players! 3 of the 4 players he " inherited or wouldn't have recruited " were the healthiest players the past two years. 1-no tournament 2- nit 3-ncaa Not sure Archie is the answer, but if you don't see improvement, that's your view. Any business would take that kind of growth in year 3.

Charlie Miller. Just never got better. When you start at IU as a freshman there are certain expectations. At least there were then. During his time was when I realized it may be a while before I see 30 wins again. Didn’t think it would be like this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

For me when I attended IU, it was Dane Fife. His 1st three years, Dane seemed to be scared s**t-less to take a shot, even when he was the only player on the side of the floor or when the shot clock was under 5.

  33. Andrae Patterson. He had so much talent but in so many games played like he just didn't care. I swear he'd pick up fouls intentionally just so Knight had to take him out of games.

  39. Your takes on this are exceptionally ridiculous. If it was that big of a waste of time, no one would have agreed to the rule. It’s professional development learning from the best in the world AT WORST. Who wouldn’t do that if given the opportunity? Are you saying that if you had the opportunity to get feedback from Gordon Ramsay - even though you may never work in a 5-star kitchen - you wouldn’t do it?

  40. I remember the Indiana Senior/Junior All-Star's coming to Memorial Gym in Kokomo back then and Cody was on the senior team and Yogi/Hanner/Patterson were all on the Junior team. My dad and I both came away with similar feelings, that Hanner was an insane athlete but had little to no basketball skills. Pre-game warmups he had the crowd ooing and ahhing with all kinds of highlight dunks, and then come game time I'm not sure he even scored. Cody dominated of course. We held out hope that he could be coached up and still turn into something special, but I think he was simply too much of a project even for 4 years of college.

  46. #4 on this list Alex O'Connell with an indication we've expressed interest. If you read the fine print, you'll note he's from Milton, GA -- does the name Bruce Thornton ring any bells? Same high school and we were mentioned with interest in Thornton by Rivals and I just posted some info on him in the '22 recruiting thread.
