    (2019) CG Jahmius Ramsey

Louisville insider Demling from their 247 board removed Ramsey from their Big Board and said he doesn’t think there is any chance he ends up at Louisville. Texas Tech is the leader according to some other scouts. Let’s hope he is impressed with HH. Please leave the other junk out of the recruiting threads. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Well it’s just down right obvious what’s going on here...now that Crean isn’t in town dominating the state of Indiana anymore, Fran thinks he can come in and grab anyone he wants

I’m usually not one to talk about getting back on topic. But yeah this money debate is past old. I’d like to read stuff on Jahmius Ramsey

(2019) SG Brandon Newman to Purdue

I understand the thought process but I remember the classic contests between the Knight and Keady teams when both were really good. At the end of the day, I would rather beat them when they are also good. And when both teams each have several in state kids, it's even better.

I'm actually OK with him at Purdue. And, yes, he'll probably be a pain to the Hoosiers. But he is close to his family, and without knowing the details, that's probably the most important thing. We can't take everyone and I trust CAM to be the difference maker when it counts. I hope things work out for Newman and he realizes his dreams.

Anybody else read that in Denzel’s voice

Let's see if you have that same feeling by October 15th. If he's not a Hoosier by the end of October than let's start to worry.

Yep, they just need to add some freakishly large dork to play Center (and spread social diseases) and you have the quintessential Purdue class. Very solid, some skills.....but just not good enough to really matter.

Jake‏Verified account @jakeweingarten Indiana’s Archie Miller will be in today for 2019 five-star Trayce Jackson-Davis, source tells Stockrisers. Jackson-Davis has his official to IU next weekend Archie pulling out all the stops and hopefully it all pays off.

Personally I would say I disagree and would say from my perspective it is for both the recruit and the paying fan. It’s a balancing act but without the fans you can’t recruit. Without the recruit there are no fans. Extremes on either side imo are wrong. It’s a balancing act. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    Daily MLB Banter

I forgot to mention this. A few weekends back my brother and I kicked off our annual Baseball Weekend tradition. We flew into Minneapolis and caught the Twins vs Royals game. Drove down to Milwaukee and saw the Brewers vs Giants and then drove down to Chicago and saw the White Sox vs Angels. Target Field in Minneapolis is really nice. It's a smaller stadium and has a homely feel to it. I really enjoyed it. There is a ton of construction downtown but getting to the stadium was simple. Though we didn't utilize it, they have a nice light rail system running from the airport into downtown. For never being there before, I left impressed with the city and the stadium. Miller Field was the first stadium I'd ever been in with a retractable roof. It was odd to watch a game in basically a cube with out a top. One thing is for certain, Brewer's fans tailgate like no other. They showed up in force. We arrived about an hour before the game and there were tailgaters everywhere. It was like a football tailgate at a baseball game. Great fans. They knew when to get loud without the annoying prompt from the screens. We killed time in the afternoon by visiting the Harley Davidson museum. I'm not a HD guy, but I do love motorcycles. It's also worth the stop if you have the time. Chicago. What can I say? It's Chicago. The parking was good. It was easy to get in/out. The food is outrageously expensive. $6 for a 20oz pop. Outlandish. $10 for a beer. Most expensive place of the three. We visited the "Married with Children" fountain and the "Blob" before the game. Nothing terribly exciting. I had been to newer 'Comiskey' before (I can't remember the corp sponsor...Gaurantee something or another) but marked off Minny and Milwaukee from the list. I'm now at 13 active stadiums and 18 overall. Next year we're planning a trip to California. Dodger's, Padres, and Angel's. Already looking forward to that trip.

    IU Baseball Commits

I was talking to a returning position player a few weeks ago and had a pretty interesting conversation. It's probably not worth starting a new topic, but thought I'd share a bit for those following IU baseball. Trying to recall what he told me, but the main points were Mercer's coaching philosophy is more of a "professional baseball" approach that Lemonis. He said that there isn't much emphasis on bunting and "small ball" in general. Essentially, from what I gathered, hitters are looking to drive the ball regardless of count and situation (with some exceptions, I'm sure). Overall, there's a lot more BP, weight lifting, and emphasis on nutrition and conditioning. He said that team chemistry is good right now and that the new coaching staff has been well received by the players. Of course, it's hard to keep everybody happy during the season, so I'm sure some things will change in that regard. But, it sounds like so far, so good from his standpoint.

There are multiple people who want him benched so that we can open up the playbook. Why we would want to start gunslinging is beyond me though. After years of Wilson’s offense killing the defense for us to lose games in the 4th quarter you think people would understand a game manager is what we need. Not a gunslinger. Dont turn it over and sustain long drives. It’s only way our defense is going to survive.

And yet some people would have us bench our QB......

I just want the Script 'Indiana' font on the front of one jersey, even just for one game. Keep everything else the same. It would look so good. (And it would sell like hotcakes).

    IU Field Hockey

Best of luck to the field hockey team as they start the Hoosier Invitational tomorrow in Bloomington. The team is currently 1-3, but is much better than the record shows (very easily could be 3-1).
