Would a loss to Oregon in the big ten championship hurt our resume enough to knock us out? 11-1 could be better than 11-2

I doubt it. But if we get a chance to play that game in Indy, IUFB is winning it.

A loss to Oregon in the Big Ten championship will not force us out of the CFP if we were already in prior to the game.  It could change seeding, but not being in or not.

The Clemson loss IMO was big because it guaranteed that IMO that it will not be possible for IU to be behind three ACC schools.

By the same token, I guess our O$U loss shouldn't count ...

IU's win over Michigan looks better.

Also, IU should get the credit for this UM win. OSU was obviously coming off a big win against IU so a let down is to be expected. :)

IMO what the current CFP rankings are after the early games.

1.  Oregon

2.   Texas

3.  Penn State

4.  Notre Dame

5.  Ohio State

6. Miami

7.  Georgia

8. Tennessee

9.  SMU

10.  Indiana

11. Boise State

12.  Alabama

13.  Ole MIss

14.  South Carolina

15.  Clemson

There might be a little shuffling of 12-14.....but I think South Carolina and Alabama's ceiling is #12 unless SMU, Indiana, or Boise State lose.  And a Boise State loss wouldn't help them because someone is getting in as a conference champion from the MWC or elsewhere for that spot.

IF that was the ranking, it would be 1. Oregon, 2. Texas, 3. Miami, 4. Boise State, 5. Penn State, 6. Notre Dame, 7. Ohio State, 8. Georgia, 9. Tennessee, 10. SMU, 11. Indiana, 12. Big 12 champion.

I know that the committee loves sound bytes -- like when they said 'IU's SOS is 106' (but didn't mention it next week when it was up to 51).  If MIchigan lost, then they would be saying 'IU didn't beat anybody that finished the season with a winning record'.

As of now, there hasn't been any team we jump in front of.  Clemson was behind us.

It's just that the team ranked closest to IU lost, which is good.  Ole Miss didn't look good, so they aren't jumping us from 14.  South Carolina IMO didn't play well enough to warrant jumping from 15 to 10 and ahead of IU.

Take care of business with Purdue, just keep it out of being a close game plus have Texas beat A&M (or Georgia should A&M beat Texas) and IU is in.

I don't think we have to do anything more than beat Purdue by 10+ and we are safely in!

MD went for it on their own 30 and turns it over on downs

Ya 17-7. Would take a miracle for PSU to blow it to this Maryland team.
