MemphisHoosier Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 I found a nice chronological synopsis from NU SBNation site, https://www.insidenu.com/2023/7/9/23788442/a-comprehensive-look-at-northwestern-footballs-hazing-allegations, and it looks like the investigation took a sharp turn on 7/8 when the NU student newspaper connected two former players to Fitz having visibility to the conduct. A lot of really unfortunate events transpired here - but I continue to be inspired by the caliber of our student journalists across the B1G. Demo and Stuhoo 2 Quote

I have to admit, when I first heard about this, I thought it was just some sensitive freshmen who couldn't take some ribbing from older players. But this is just weird and crazy behavior. Makes no sense to me what purpose this serves. Anyone who knew and allowed this to happen should be fired, in my opinion. Demo, Stuhoo and Alford Bailey 3 Quote

Sooooo… I bet in two years he’ll be ready for rehabilitation and Indiana would be a great bounce back/revenge tour job? (*too soon?) Quote

WhiteyMcSpeed Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Tom Allen to Northwestern? A high character coach like him would be perfect for them right now. go iu bb and thebigweave 2 Quote
Hovadipo Posted July 11, 2023 Author Posted July 11, 2023 Wild, man. That is a seriously expedited fall from grace. Even if NW has a plan (would lay down a serious sum that they don’t) that program is screwed for a good, long while. Demo 1 Quote

Do you really think there was that much nakedness going on? That’s just too weird for smart dudes that go to NW. I think it’s embellished. But if true it’s no wonder they sucked. I want my football players to kick @$$ and take names. Quote

There's no way I'm taking that naked snap or going through the carwash lol True story from back in the day. We had an early morning practice, 6 am or something. Running backs, QBs and center. Shorts and helmets. Well the center did wear a jock and was free wheeling down there. The QBs were dying. Must have fumbled dozens of snaps. :) Quote

Agree on all counts except that it may not be embellished. Because smart people can be some weird-@$$ freaks. Quote

Anything naked is just plain weird. Anything violent is out of bounds. Making them Cary stuff, stupid names, getting food, etc. — who cares. Quote

So most of this seems just silly/playful imo. Except forced humping. That part is the part that bothers me and could be considered assault. Quote

Naked stuff has always been apart of it because it's considered the most humiliating, it's also the dumbest to do these days because people will literally be charged with sexual assault. Even when this stuff was considered "ok" it was dumb. Doing it now is really just idiotic, like a death wish. thebigweave, Hoosier Roots and Alford Bailey 3 Quote
