I could see them just tossing SMU in favor of Bama. Especially if Clemson wins convincingly. It’s gross but you can’t tell me it isn’t possible.

That's actually a possibility I thought of as well. ... As much as I detest the SEC and their arrogance and how ESPN is a schill for them, just doesn't seem as if the ACC's a two-bid league.

My guess would be they swap spots. Oregon/PSU loser will also change things at the top. How far would 11-2 PSU drop? Below OSU? I'd say the certainly will.

We are about to see whether the committee will punish losers of conference championships. This will be interesting

if Georgia were to get blown out I think they would have them 10 vs #7 OSU for ratings…. You know the networks would try to push that

And if Boise loses to UNLV the big 12 winner probably jumps to the 4 spot and UNLV is 12th. Lot is going to change this weekend.

They’re definitely going to punish them in seeding. The only one that would get punished by being left out is probably Clemson though. But guaranteed the seeding will change based on winners and losers. The chairman just said it would be a data point they evaluate.

IU at 9 is important yet concerning. If BSU loses to UNLV that basically means #11 and #12 will both be out. If Clemson wins and stays outside top 12 then 10, 11 and 12 will essentially be out with 3 autos outside the top 12.....that wouldn't be great if they feel compelled to put Bama, Miami or SMU in

Miami is already out. I think there's zero chance they get back in.

Funny how the P4 conference titles could all be won by newcomers: 

B1G -- Oregon

Big 12 -- Arizona State 

ACC -- Southern Methodist 

SEC -- Texas 

Doesn't say much for the old guard, eh?

The commissioner said as much to Reece Davis. That the teams who aren’t playing next week won’t have any more data points to be rearranged. So Miami behind Bama means they’re out.

They are the least worrisome of the 3 I mentioned. Would you be surprised to see IU bounced for Bama? Under the worst case scenario of 3 autos not in top 12 I could see it.

The good news is IU is in. Looking like on the road. I think these are the 4 host sites: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Loser of Big Ten champ game, Loser of SEC champ game. 

I still think Miami should have been the last spot. Ohio State lost at home as a 3 TD favorite. Miami lost on the road (granted they were a ten point favorite) to a 9-3 team. Ohio State only fell 4 spots and still gets to host a game. Miami fell 6 spots and is out. I just don't like that. Bama gets rewarded for beating a 5-7 Auburn team just a week after losing bad to 6-6 OU. 

The million dollar question: If SMU loses are they in? It'll be between them and Bama. If SMU wins there will be no drama.

Are you saying you think the Mountain West could get 2 bids with a UNLV win? I see no scenario where that happens.

From the way I understand it -- we cannot get bounced for 'Bama. They're behind us and neither has games to play -- so as the committee dude told Reece Davis, there's no more data to gather on those teams.

IU is in. No way that a 1 loss team from one of the two “power” conferences gets left out. Would set a precedent that the power brokers won’t abide.

Should we be a possible first round host team? Lot’s of crazy stuff would have to happen. No way should any 3 loss team be ahead of us

If Boise loses they will be out of the playoffs completely I would imagine since they are behind IU anyway. 0 chance committee is putting 2 Mountain West teams in

And if they do, I don’t see how it could be at IU’s expense. IU is already ranked ahead of Boise State. No way Boise State loses and then jumps us.
