Yep, we are absolutely not safe. We need to beat Purdue into the ground, but even that probably won't move the needle.

Clemson played Citadel last week and the committee moved them up 5 spots.

I'm telling you, they are setting it up to try to bump Clemson in.

SMU beat 3-9 Nevada by 5 points. Lost to BYU by 3. Beat Louisville by 7, Duke by 1 in overtime, and Boston College by 10. They simply don’t want to put IU in the playoff. It’s as simple as that. No one objective looks at us and SMU and puts SMU ahead of us. They should just go back to the BCS computers. The playoff committee is biased as hell.

Clemson's lost by 31 to Georgia.

In their last four weeks:

lost at home to Louisville by 12.

beat a five win Virginia Tech team by 10.

beat Pittsburgh who has a losing ACC record by 4.

Beat Citadel.

The team that lost shouldn’t be penalized compared to the third place team in their conference, but they absolutely should take it into account when weighing it against teams from other conference. Remember when Wisconsin lost to OSU 59-0 in 2014?

****, even the AP voters put SMU ahead of IU.  It's ridiculous.  ESPN has been pounding into people's minds that 'IU hasn't played anybody' and not talking a damn bit about teams like SMU with worse schedules.

Also need to keep in mind that if Texas A&M beats Texas, they are in the BIg 12 title game.  That won't be enough to get A&M in BUT if A&M wins the SEC title game, they aren't automatically in which gives the SEC an additional bid.

I sorta feel like this was the thinking of the committee ... 

"Boy, IU is a great story. They come out of nowhere and win their first 10 games. New coach. Great story. Worst team in the history of college football is beating everyone and climbing in the rankings. Need to get them in the field for a few weeks. But once they lose to O$U, we can slowly move them out. 

"We've got Dabo to answer to We've got Kirby to answer to. We've got Stankey to answer to."

This is starting to remind me of when we got bumped for a New Year's Six bowl a few years back.

The B1G needs a hype machine like the SEC has. Whatever one they have, they need to turn it on against the ACC teams, SMU in particular.

If Clemson beats South Carolina, Miami and SMU both win this weekend, and Tennessee loses to Vandy, then the ACC is going to have three teams in.

We have a better SOS than Miami, SMU, and ND, and our loss was to, by far, the best team of the four. They beat the hell out of the SOS argument this past week and have now just completely thrown it out the window. So frustrating.

The SEC's hype machine is that they're still associated with ESPN. So is the ACC. We broke up with ESPN/ABC a couple years ago. Draw your own conclusions ...

If SMU gets beat by Miami, and they stay ahead of IU, then it’s rigged. They drop IU 5 spots for a loss at OSU but keep SMU ahead of IU if they lose? Possible. But no logic to it.
