I agree with you guys that the guard depth would be fantastic, but there's also a minutes component when it comes to factors taken into a commitment. I'd love for Darius to come, but for the level of player he is, would he get as much floor time as he would at some place like Vandy? Not sure of their roster situation, just using them as an example.

Good problem to have. Garland, Romeo, Green, and Jones would get the bulk of the minutes. Durham and Phinisee would get most of their minutes late in blowout games.

This is the level of players we need to consistently compete at a high level.

Phinesse has no guarantee at minutes his freshman yr no matter where he goes. Even with DG I still would picture him getting some backup PG minutes.

IDK, Ohio State would give him a lot of early minutes.

I think durham will transfer. I just don't see him getting much playing time for the foreseeable future with all those guards.

Durham is currently in the rotation this year according to Archie so I don't see that being the case.

Archie needs to be careful, in my opinion. I'm hoping he has a plan in mind if we do happen to get Garland and Langford. Obviously, if you can get those two talents, you don't pass it up. But one of the things the Indianapolis Monthly article mentioned that soured Indiana parents and coaches on Crean was his oversigning. I think folks gave Archie a pass on Gelon because for one, that wasn't his recruit, and for two, I think most realize the kid just wasn't a B1G-caliber player (no offense). He doesn't want to run the risk of pissing off coaches or parents -- because once you get stuck with that reputation, it can take a long time to get it unstuck.

While I agree here, he didn't recruit all of the current players himself. I don't think we can make this a habit though.

If you're winning at a high enough level this isn't as big of a problem..

Wow!! I guess it's just an exhibition but still. If Hand and Wilkes don't live up to the hype they could have a down year. Pac 12 has some talent this year. Welsh and Holiday are good role players but not go to guys. Of course I'm sure Liangelo is gonna be the best college player around when Lavar gets interviewed a thousand times this year.

must be nice to have the 17th overall player (welsh) in the 2014 class according to scout as a role player. He might not be a go to guy but he is better then a role player in my opinion

Not saying over signing is a good thing in anyway but it almost creates a good culture. With our guard depth for 2018-2019 if we get RL and DG, these guys gotta work. Playing time won’t be given to any of them as well have loads of competition. Natural Selection

Ever seen the show Survivor? Always knowing someone is getting axed breeds paranoia, betrayal, bad environment
