incrediboy Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Anyone who knows (or even hears) anything about Johnson's injury and/or his return, please post it here for us all to see. Thanks! ALASKA HOOSIER, colonel06 and BottomLine 3 Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 There have been some tweets about him being in a boot and on one crutch. I would guess we play our cards very close to the vest this week leading up to Illinois. I bet we don't know his status for Thursday until about an hour before tip off. That is speculation on my part, so who knows. Now that I've written that, there will probably be an official release in 15 minutes. JaybobHoosier, Bobman1, Napleshoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

hoosierpap Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Looks like it was a sprain...not detrimental but thats another lingerer along w the groin. You're going to see Rojo at about 70% or so the rest of the year HoosierAloha, Walking Boot of Doom, KelleyHoosh and 4 others 7 Quote

Miller'sTheMan Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 At least it's not that bad. I would just sit him vs Illinois and give him more time to heal. We shouldn't need him to win. LockdownD, JaybobHoosier and colonel06 3 Quote

HoosierHoops1 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 better than Niego i'm not so sure about that. Quote
IUfan_Charlie Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 i'm not so sure about that. He has 11 points and 11 rebounds all season. 323SGrant 1 Quote
HoosierHoops1 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 He has 11 points and 11 rebounds all season. Yes. But he also makes a positive play almost every minute he plays. And he plays under control and won't do much harm while out there. While, we'll get 70% of the good Rojo, we still get 100% of the bad Rojo, which rears it's head now and again. Brass Cannon Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Id go with Rojo over Niego but will be interesting to see if he can take advantage of more playing time Quote
Uspshoosier Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 @insidethehall Tom Crean said Robert Johnson has a sprained ankle. "It's a definite ankle sprain." #iubb @jefferabjohns Sophomore guard Robert Johnson has an ankle sprain, no specific timetable for his return, Indiana coach Tom Crean said tonight. #iubb coonhounds, ALASKA HOOSIER, Bobman1 and 1 other 4 Quote
HoosierHoops1 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I'd go with Rojo too. Hopefully he recovers well enough that it's mute. Quote
coonhounds Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Crean just said on radio it is a sprained ankle and there is no timetable for recovery. Just have to monitor it and give him time to heal Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I'd sit him for at least Ill and Iowa then possibly bring him back for Maryland. I guess it will be a game by game decision though. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I hope RoJo is a quick healer! JaybobHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
AKHoosier Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Some of these injuries you never know sometimes. Robert could give it a day or 2 and wake up Thursday morning feeling well enough to play. I just hope we don't rush anything that could aggravate it, we're going to need him at his fullest strength in the tournament. HoosierAloha and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote

It could be a week, or it could be a month, depending on how severe it is. Worst example? The Pacers' Rodney Stuckey has now missed something like 27 games because of a severe sprain. On the other hand, there are many examples of these younger guys healing more quickly, and missing relatively little time. I guess the team just has to be prepared for any scenario. Rojo looked like he barely tweaked it. A week of physical therapy and he's 85% again. Back to where he was by the Big Ten Tourney. I'd sit him for Illinois and start him for Iowa and Maryland but limit his minutes a little. Minimize his practices too. My opinion will change depending on how he looks at Illinois though. I'd expect him to dress but not play. I guess dressing is less of a big deal than in football though. Quote
