If he goes to Vandy he doesn’t care about winning and something shady is going on. Nothing about Drew’s coaching career warrants landing three five stars in a single class.

It certainly suggests impropriety, especially with schools that normally aren't players for the top kids. However, I'm really reluctant to accuse without any substantial evidence. I think RL was a lock for Louisville until the FBI essentially slammed that door. At this point I don't think he's all that excited about any of the schools on his list.

If you believe that and we mostly all do, don't you think Louisville was going to "take care" of the Langfords like they do all their prized recruits.

I think those that ignore the elephant in the room aren't seeing the whole picture.

His final 3 are Kansas, Vandy, and us. Louisville cut due to said violations.

Kansas is The hallmark program of shady recruiting. Vanderbilt is looking highly questionable this off season with Shittu after the Arizona scandal which it's safe to assume Arizona was willing to pay the going rate for Shittu. Then Louisville. And us. We seem to dance in the dark with a lot of these types of recruits and lose almost all of them.

Does that mean we (adidas-boosters-whomever) don't pay as much as the higher bidders. Do we not "pay" anything? Who knows? I think we offer some benefits and aren't crystal clean but we clearly don't offer the top "offers" when it comes to Preston, Bruce Brown, Goodluck, etc, etc.

Here's the thing for me. I don't fault the Langfords if this is the secret marketplace for top 100, top 50, top 10 guys. I just wish the playing field would be leveled somehow, someway.

Romeo's recruitment has been very weird. While on one hand it's nice not competing with a bunch of blue bloods for him right now, it's a little weird to me that Kentucky, MSU, Duke, UK, etc., aren't in his final 3, but Vandy is. It makes me wonder what exactly the Langfords are looking for...

He'd win more at Vanderbilt with Garland and Shittu than he would at IU in all likelihood.

Spoke with one of my bro in laws today about Romeo. He knows people around the area and feels Romeo is a Vandy lean at this point. This is an extremely interesting recruitment. What will hold up at the end?
- a chance at a title (KU)
- home state hero (IU)
- playing with a friend ? (VU)

I’ll believe Romeo to Vanderbilt when I see it
If they are looking for something extra for the verbal anchors down is that place. Drew will have anchors down on probation within 5 years. Bank it.

The thing about that is I can't think of a way to do it. Someone will always want, and find a way, to get an advantage. Those who are trying to play by the rules want a level playing field. Those who are dirty will always find a way to cheat. I'm not sure a level playing field exists anywhere in sports, and especially not in popular, money making sports.

That's why I lean towards the "join the crowd" mentality. Idk. It's a catch 22. When some coaches make 3-9 million range it's hard sometimes not to feel like the players deserve a piece of the pie. It's a slippery, slippery slope. But it's not 1950 anymore.
