(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

Yeah I definitely wasn't implying anything about their job security.
Glass laid out what he wants to see in our program and his man delivered a huge part of that in 1 year...I'm sure he is ecstatic.

I bet he is relieved a bit now especially after how the first half of last season started. All signs currently pointed up.

Only problem is it makes for a really long season. By the time you get to tourney time not sure you are playing your best basketball. I think, it hurt Purdue this year.

True — but we have a lot of depth now so we could spread the minutes around on a brief summer tour. Plus we could limit the extra number of games and even keep close by such as in Canada again. I would love to eliminate those early losses like to ISU and IPFW and get a great start out of the gate in the Big Ten. Plus as a fan—I selfishly want to get the season started and enjoy every minute of Romeo while we have him. So—007 do you know if Archie has done these overseas trips in the past at Dayton or is he not a fan of them?

True. I think it will be beneficial for the freshman to possibly gel sooner, but I agree with your end effect.

Anyone would be burned out if they had Painter yelling at them every day from August until March.

I guess I'm an outlier on this topic, but I think it's best if they stay in Bloomington.  Much more focused time for the 4 new freshmen to start getting adapted to Archie's style and become familiar with their new teammates.  You take a trip and there's time lost to travel and obligatory sightseeing.  Yes, they'll have games against a true opponent but to me that doesn't outweigh what I think are greater benefits by staying home.

I'm gonna guess No. 2 ... He wore No. 1 at New Albany (which is taken by Durham) and No. 22 during his AAU days (which is taken by Moore). ... So he can grab No. 2. And by doing so, what better way to pay homage to Josh Newkirk? LOL!

I was thinking the same thing, except the Newkirk part but now that you bring it up it makes a ton of sense!

I’m not arguing they should take an international trip, but they are permitted much more coaching time for such trips per NCAA rules.

Could Durham or Moore switch numbers to let him have one of his his. I know in like the NFL and NBA, players have given up their numbers so other players could keep theirs if they come to a new team. Not saying they should or would or if Romeo would even ask, but is that stuff allowed in NCAA.
