(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

I believe he announces during the McDonalds game or shortly after. I always thought it wouldn't last past January, but it's likely gonna happen. I have heard from credible people that they think IU and also some for Vandy. I just now stopped hearing Kansas was in strong position so I truly doubt anyone has a real idea just guesses. Be careful who you listen to though. If they're a IU fan or Vandy fan I don't pay much attention or even each schools beat writers. Sadly ESPN and some other big boys will likely know before anyone.

In chat tonight Peegs said it was Romeo who asked to come to the Northwestern game. So that is a very good sign.
I hope he watched vandy go down again tonight. Other than a pro audition in a crappy gym I still see nothing they have to offer.

All of this stuff is speculation. It's also hard to know what sources are getting stuff actually connected to Romeo or his family. They seem to keep things very close to the vest. Even people with those level of connections are only speculating. Right now the recurring narrative has been Vanderbilt for two big reasons. Garland and if rumors are true, Drew telling reporters privately they are in the lead. The optics make it seem like Vandy is in the lead but it's hard to tell. I know it will be hard for him to say no to Garland. But Indiana is a more logical choice. I think he probably really isn't sure. I think he's really grappling with this decision. I just hope Indiana can win out.

Not necessarily asking you specifically, just using your post as a jumping off point.

Why is it so hard for him to say no to Garland, yet everyone thinks saying no to Indiana (fans, program, homestate kid, etc.) is so easy? We've seen brothers play at different schools at the same time, I just don't understand this overwhelming pull everyone thinks Garland has over Langford?

I think he decides what is best for him. But I don't think if he said yes to Vanderbilt it's because he couldn't say no. Just saying it's probably not easy disappointing someone.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he announces at the McDonalds game. I had heard he would be announcing on ESPN at some point. I thought that would have been at a showcase game though. I guess we'll see. It would be sweet to see him announce for IU at the McDonald's game.

Blackmon has been the only one to announce for IU on ESPN for awhile no?
