HoosierAloha Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 There have been lots of "alpha dogs" out there in past years but it's not often that they convince other elite players to join up with them - at a non-basketball school especially. My money would go toward smelly door #2 in this situation. I'm not privy to that information. However, the situation looks iffy at best. A recruit was going somewhere he would get paid. After, he suddenly finds Jesus and is clean? Possible, not likely. On the flip, maybe Garland is the alpha dog (Wade) and gets his buddies to form a big three. Possible, not likely. Walking Boot of Doom Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Guys it’s not doomsday. Romeo hasn’t committed to either Vanderbilt or Kansas. And IU is still just as much in the driver’s seat. He knows what it would mean to play at IU and restore that program. Just be patient. Don’t buy into all the rumors. It’ll make you go mad. I’m just waiting till he commits. Not gonna get caught up in rumorsYeah don’t listen to those rumors, listen to this guy’s rumors. Bailey7878 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 He'll commit after his season ends. His family doesn't want him playing in front of an IU crowd as a Vandy commit. That makes no sense. If he commits to vandy now far less iu fans will go to his games. Instead he will have iu fans in his ear now until April. He might as well just verbal to vandy now since it's a done deal.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Not gonna get caught up in rumors Langford is a tremendous talent and would no doubt elevate IU to a different level from day one, but another reason that it won't be doomsday if he doesn't pick IU is that we have a really nice core developing. Yes, this year is going to be tough, but I already like what we have in Durham, Smith and Davis, and potentially Green if he settles down and develops, then you add the '18 class that even without Langford is a really strong foundational class, and IU is in a great position IMO. Would definitely need to nail the '19 class, and yes Langford would make this all go much quicker, but the pieces are there and IU basketball is in good hands either way. Not sure if that's a hot take or not but there ya go. Shittu has been in the bag for Vandy for weeks. The Langfords knew this. Nothing has changed today. lillurk, Josh, IUsafety and 1 other 4 Quote

But I still have a hard time believing he picks Vanderbilt over IU. Better chance now than before? Yes. But in the end, I think the power of IU and what it would mean will win out. We’ll see Quote

I agree that IU is in a good position regardless of the outcome of Romeo. But that class goes from good to great with him in the fold. It is of utmost importance to get the best player in the state every year BGleas 1 Quote

HoosierRobbie Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 What alarms me the most is that (if the rumors are true) romeos parents wanted drew to get involved, when he wasn’t recruiting him in the first place.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety, MikeRoberts and Iugradman 3 Quote

Bailey7878 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 You literally don't know that. lolConsidering two other 2018 Arizona recruits were offered money it's a pretty safe bet I'd take any day of the week. Arizona is very crooked but yet they are getting to play the season as if nothing happened. Why wouldn't vandy pony up seeing there are no consequenses.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote
