He definitely isn't real flashy, and that is completely okay by me.

Yeesh. That hardly looked like basketball. Seeing those hards fouls and elbows Romeo took makes it a little more clear why he wanted to stay in.

Anyone know what he has to average per game to get the scoring record?

New Albany News & Tribune:

CHARLESTOWN —Romeo Langford began his senior season with a bang.

The New Albany senior scored a career-high 48 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 110-36 win at Charlestown in the season-opener for both teams Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was 17 for 28 from the field and 13 for 15 from the free throw line as he bettered his previous high game by two points. For his part, however, Langford was unimpressed.

“I felt like I had an off-night shooting the ball, but I did other things like rebounding, drawing fouls on the offensive end and shooting layups,” said Langford, who was an uncharacteristic 1 of 9 from 3-point range. “All that matters is that we won, so that’s the good thing about it.”

Surely Alex had his IU apparel on in clear view for RoMeO to see during the post game!?!?  #StayHomeRoMeO

Love that he just goes about his business and lets his game do the talking.

Better man than me because I would've punched that little piss ant in the face after about the 3rd shove.

If he loses the first game of sectional then about 45 if he makes it to state then I believe it's about 35 he has to average per game.

I saw the post about Langford not coming to IU because he has stated he wants to compete for a national championship, and we are not ready for that. That has been my concern about the likelihood that he comes to Bloomington as well.

However, there has also been speculation that he may not be a one-and-done player. Let's say he stays two years. We have a nice class coming in next year already, that would have a year of experience, along with the core we already have. Let's say we add one or more of a group like Brooks, TJD, or Watford. I'm not sure that isn't a group in the discussion for a national title.

When I asked Romeo about the fouls he said he expects it and knows he has a target on his back. Said he welcomes the challenge and fully expects teams to do the same thing mostly every game. Someone said well you dropped 48 so that must've felt good and he had the biggest smile on his face. He is a silent killer. Doesn't do much trash talking.

Man I love that quote. That silent killer attitude is the absolute best for getting under people’s skin

Charlestown kids for yah.

How can anyone you not like Romeos game?? That kid is so smooth and so humble. The best kind of player/kid you could ask for on your team. Thought it was funny the kid guarding him is getting lit up and his team is down by 50 in the 2nd quarter and is talking trash to Romeo saying he's "soft." Too funny [emoji23]

Silky smooth player and just goes about his business even after getting some cheap hits. He needs to be at Indiana.
