Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 New Albany News & Tribune: CHARLESTOWN —Romeo Langford began his senior season with a bang. The New Albany senior scored a career-high 48 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 110-36 win at Charlestown in the season-opener for both teams Tuesday night. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was 17 for 28 from the field and 13 for 15 from the free throw line as he bettered his previous high game by two points. For his part, however, Langford was unimpressed. “I felt like I had an off-night shooting the ball, but I did other things like rebounding, drawing fouls on the offensive end and shooting layups,” said Langford, who was an uncharacteristic 1 of 9 from 3-point range. “All that matters is that we won, so that’s the good thing about it.” Full article at: http://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/boys-basketball-langford-scores-bulldogs-roll-in-opener/article_13f9a0a0-cf3f-11e7-bc1b-97397d0950b9.html Josh and Stromboli 2 Quote

Seeing those hards fouls and elbows Romeo took makes it a little more clear why he wanted to stay in. Anyone know what he has to average per game to get the scoring record? Love that he just goes about his business and lets his game do the talking. Better man than me because I would've punched that little piss ant in the face after about the 3rd shove. bigrod Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I saw the post about Langford not coming to IU because he has stated he wants to compete for a national championship, and we are not ready for that. That has been my concern about the likelihood that he comes to Bloomington as well. However, there has also been speculation that he may not be a one-and-done player. Let's say he stays two years. We have a nice class coming in next year already, that would have a year of experience, along with the core we already have. Let's say we add one or more of a group like Brooks, TJD, or Watford. I'm not sure that isn't a group in the discussion for a national title. Quote

I'm not so sure that an IU team with a senior Juwan Morgan, a junior DeRon Davis and DeVonte Green, a sophomore Justin Smith, Clifton Moore and Al Durham, and a freshman Romeo Langford and Jerome Hunter couldn't compete for a national championship next year. Stranger things have happened. lillurk, Stromboli, Yogi's Picnic Basket and 6 others 9 Quote
Popular Post Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted November 22, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2017 When I asked Romeo about the fouls he said he expects it and knows he has a target on his back. Said he welcomes the challenge and fully expects teams to do the same thing mostly every game. Someone said well you dropped 48 so that must've felt good and he had the biggest smile on his face. He is a silent killer. Doesn't do much trash talking. ThompsonHoosier, thebigweave, ALASKA HOOSIER and 7 others 10 Quote

BGVille Hoosierfan Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Charlestown kids for yah. How can anyone you not like Romeos game?? That kid is so smooth and so humble. The best kind of player/kid you could ask for on your team. Thought it was funny the kid guarding him is getting lit up and his team is down by 50 in the 2nd quarter and is talking trash to Romeo saying he's "soft." Too funny [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosierfan2017 1 Quote
