Uspshoosier Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 2018 G Romeo Langford wrapped up his official visit to Kansas this weekend. He visited both North Carolina and Indiana earlier this month, as well as Vanderbilt and UCLA in September. Langford, the #5 ranked player in the 2018 247Sports composite rankings, will now meet with his family to discuss what's up next in his recruitment.TheShiver.com briefly caught up to Langford's father, Tim, about the visit to Kansas and what the plan moving forward is with Romeo's recruitment ."It went very well," said Tim Langford about the visit to Kansas. "We like the facilities and the campus. We're going to talk as a family on what's next," he added.A decision in the spring might be the most likely scenario for Langford, but cutting his list down to three schools will likely come sooner than later."Plan is to cut it down to three [schools] in a couple of weeks," said Tim Langford.Right now Indiana has a commanding lead in Langford's Crystal Ball.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners sabaka, ALASKA HOOSIER, lillurk and 4 others 7 Quote

Right now I expect KU to be in there. I also think Indiana is going to be tough to top.Matt Scott Kansas insider for 247Lol wasn’t able to get a ton of time. Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 See!! Told ya'll not to worry!! All that stress for nothing. I know it's hard because until it's official we're gonna second guess it, but KU was more of a factor before he stepped on campus. Good thing is he went there right after IU. KU won't be too upset tho. It feels good to know we probably win the battle of them, but they will have a great class. Dotson & Grimes alone would be amazing throw in their bigs and the potential of Shittu, Zion or Herro. CR3AMnCR1MS0N 1 Quote

I doubt that happens since their insider picked foggy after the visit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app lillurk, MikeRoberts, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 4 others 7 Quote

Never once have I said KU is actually a favorite or would be after the visit. That would be actually worth mentioning. Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 BTW when I said that his visit was still ongoing or maybe not even started can't remember, but what I do remember is saying hours ago that his visit was good nothing crazy and IU should feel even better. Now we see the KU insider change his pick and the quotes from papa langford don't sound great. Hmmmm. Lol never knew 99.9% of IU the favorite but hey since 247 cbers always change their pick after a visit with a team that has a shot I expect that to happen here would result in my words not meaning the same. Just for closure tho even if it was announced by ESPN but not Romeo I would still say the same. I have found teenagers can be tricky. I feel like the Garland announcement is our biggest piece left, in regards to landing Romeo. So far we've done everything right to earn his commitment. I feel like a Garland commitment would be the final push he needs to announce for us. Yogi's Picnic Basket, Bobman1, VO5 and 4 others 7 Quote

We will likely end with the #1 or #2 recruiting class, in the nation, in Archie's first recruiting cycle. A recruiting cycle that he got a late start on. We are going to have 2018 5* kids that want to come to IU and won't be able to bc others jumped first. Jam, thebigweave, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 1 other 4 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I don't want everyone jumping down my throat because my comments aren't meant to be derogatory or doubting in any way. Let's assume we get both Garland & Langford. This would be a recruiting class that Archie could never have dreamed of while at Dayton. On paper, the talent level is astronomical and by being so, it really puts the burden on Archie to demonstrate that he can successfully coach that level of talent and mesh it into a very powerful team. If he succeeds, the sky's the limit for IU basketball. And purely as a side note, I find myself jumping from Garland to Langford to Garland to Langford ad nauseum. Maybe we could merge the comments into a single Langland or Garford thread? Just a thought. Bobman1, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, thebigweave and 4 others 7 Quote

Specially since it will likely be the early signing period which will give Archie the top recruiting class before his 1st or 2nd game at IU depending on when they announce. Just flat out crazy. Schools nation wide will take notice and give IU a lot of momentum to build the 19 class with. It is actually unbelivable. Dayton is a great school but c'mon. If he came from a power 5 then it'd still be amazing but man. southsidehoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 5 others 8 Quote
