LIHoosier Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 FYI, IU 22 fouls, Minnesota 17. The last couple for Minny were to kill the clock. Rojo had 4 fouls which is probably the reason he was out for large stretches of the 2nd half. Yogi'sBicep 1 Quote

Rojo had 4 fouls which is probably the reason he was out for large stretches of the 2nd half. It wasn't just the number of fouls that were whistled, its also all the ones that were not called. Yogi was hacked and hammered all game without getting calls. Its no wonder he was gassed. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 We'll take the win! Put another Big Ten road win on the ledger and let's keep it going. On an off night---Yogi still willed us to a victory with his husle and leadership. Great to see him move up the all-time assist list at IU! Great to see OG back on the floor late. As long as we leave Minny with a W and healthy---that's the important thing IMO! Things will go better at home---always tough to shoot in the Old Barn. We are seeing how thin we are at guard when RoJo or Yogi are out. But we are also seeing good strong team wins and that we have a good overall bench. On to the next. Survive and advance! WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 We've have mastered beating bad teams barely. I, like the rest, will take any W, especially on the road. Rojo is in a super funk, at least I hope that is what it is. Played a generally bad game and won. That is my takeaway. Hartmans lefty layups were very nice. Confused players and plays at end of game are confounding. Glad they missed a ton of FTs in the first half. Kept us in it. HoosierAloha, ALASKA HOOSIER, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote

Old Friend Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 What has been going on with Rob and Troy? Im fine with Crean keeping them out at the end of games if they keep playing like that. I just wish he would of had TB in at the end. Thank goodness for yogi, he was gassed at the end. I don't think we understand how much we will miss him when he leaves Won't be nearly as much as you might think. Dalton26 1 Quote
hoosierdogg Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Team stats The 13 turnovers is actually good, as I think most were in the first half, or at least it seemed that way. 12-5 on offensive rebounds also huge. Class of '66 Old Fart, Josh and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Any win in the Barn is big, even against an o'fer Gopher. Two big reasons for our change for the positive this season; defense and playing hard. If you play good defense and play hard, you can still win games when you dont play yur best. Plus, you can win the close ones. The huge discrepancy in fouls/FTA on paper looks like a loss. Our playing hard combined with tough defense was the difference. I was proud of the product today. "The O'fer Gophers". MartintheMopMan Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Brutal brutal game but I didn't have to eat my words so can't beat that. After playing the actual worst team in the Big Ten the same way I should have know better. Glad to be 5-0! We're pretty much Iowa. Tanked our rating on kenpom. I think we dropped like 4 spots. Gotta wonder who gets our default play next season. Blackmon? Dump inside to TB? Thon Maker at the top of key. [emoji12][emoji23][emoji6]. Ranger78, BtownBanner6 and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Nick broke out of his slump in this one. 5/8 from 3 including 4 in a row when we were on the ropes. Now it's time for RoJo to break out of his slump. We rebounded and took care of the ball on the road and hit some free throws down the stretch. Not a perfect game but a lot to like! I think we had 10 at half or just after halftime. We did value the ball better in the 2nd half. It was good to see Troy actually pass the ball off to Yogi coming up the court a few times. Quote
