Indiana vs Creighton Post Game Thread

Fun game to watch. I love it when my Hoosiers play agressive on both ends. I took my son with me to the game and he remarked that the players work together so much better this year. Unselfish and cohesive. I like Max starting. I think he compliments Thomas. Max provides the physicality and Thomas gives verticality.

I loved how Max on defense would use his super calves to stand his guy up and TB would come across from the weak side and block or alter the shot! Teamwork!

Max's help defense sucked.
TB and Troy's help defense was excellent.
OG disappointed.
All others were fantastic.

TB is extraordinary. He brings an interior presence and court sense in a way that Vonleh and Cody largely weren't able to.

Didn't get to see the game, but checked the box...those TOs are going to kills us against the Big 10 and tournament team.  Crean has got to get that fixed.

Also...anyone else concerned that Robert Johnson has not been playing that much?  Again, I haven't seen a game yet (I have the last two on my DVR and plan on watching those tonight when I get back from being on the road).

He got called for 3 quick fouls (one that was questionable at best).  And then picked up a bogus 4th foul in the 2nd half.  I wouldn't look much into it.  Just foul trouble tonight.

Some of the TOs were bad plays, some were offensive fouls, heck one of Yogi's maybe should have been a foul against the Jays. Though, maybe he wasn't in the act of shooting yet. I think we were down on the speed turnovers though. Overall, the turnovers looked better than the box score says in my opinion.

Even of Troy's 4, only one was really bad, and I'm not convinced he would make the same play in a big game when we aren't leading by 18. He was going for the breakaway dunk and got blocked. Should have passed to Yogi. But at least one I remember was him getting a tough rebound and finding himself surrounded by blue jerseys before he even pulled it all the way in.

I can't remember the one that happened as soon as the game started or his other one. If you can note those that would be cool.

I think we're getting better on turnovers. I expect our percentage to drop to around 20% at the highest and maybe a little lower as the games move forward.

I was able to make it to btown for the game. Solid performance. There was a stretch in the second half where the refs really killed the flow of the game with foul calls. There were two or three off the ball fouls that seemed absurd.

I think at least 3 or 4 turnovers happened at the end of the game. This team plays at such a fast pace that turnovers will happen. I don't think they'll ever play to under 10 but if they can keep it to around the 12 range they will be fine. I appreciate the IU offense so much more the more I watch other teams play. It seems like the majority of teams just pass the ball around the perimeter and take contested three point shot with little movement.

Shouts out to Lyonel Anderson too. These guys look so much faster laterally than I've ever seen them. Those sand pits were legit!!

Yo...HELLO!  This x 1000 baby.  Anderson is a beast!  He will absolutely change the way we recruit in the future as well as finish out the year in our tournament runs imo.  These guys have more air in the lungs and are running on a higher octane fuel.  I love it.   ---- The momentum is real!

Beating a team whose name is immediately recognized by the basketball world by 20-plus can't be a bad thing. I thought we'd have a better challenge.

I liked most of what I saw. Still a few too many turnovers but most of them were well-intended plays that didn't come together rather than drives to nowhere or passes that were impossible.

I didn't like the "let me shoot, it's my turn" attitude that permeated the first eight minutes of the second half. I understand it -- it's a blowout, let's have fun, let me show you what I can do -- but I didn't like it. We also seemed a bit disorganized when RoJo and Zeisloft were in charge of the guard slots. RoJo never got it untracked with the foul trouble, but I expected better from him as a floor general when he was running the point.

Morgan showed me a lot in the first exhibition but nothing since. I still think he's a great talent but I'm a little concerned that maybe he's a little overwhelmed and trying too hard to be like Troy or one of the other guys he tries to emulate in practice. If we could get him to relax and play the game, he could really add a lot to this team come conference time.

Other than that, it's hard to criticize players or coaching. Team overall seems to have taken baby steps forward with each game.

That doesn't fit the agenda, so no...not Zeisloft. Doesn't count.

wrong. Imagine Anthony Davis or Ben Simmons or Cody Zeller as seniors. They never make it to senior year because of their talent. You have to compare across the same class for it to make any sense at all. Thus comparing our Freshman. I HAVE NEVER said 3 star players can't make good upperclassman. Let's use logical comparisons though.
