OG Anonuby MAJOR Sleeper:

Recommended Posts

This is where I think we have to be careful and the point where expectations become greater than a kid can produce. I've seen predictions like this with a couple dozen kids who never really worked out. Ferrell, Williams, Blackmon, Zeisloft, Johnson, Holt, Hartman, and Bryant (8 players at least) are all ahead of him right now; Morgan comes in as more highly touted, and Beilefelt will be a senior. You might be right, but this thread alone has already pumped him up to a status I'm not sure he can achieve. I'd rather let kids be what they are and not inflate expectations of a 3-star kid regardless of how much we think we'll like him.

but he is the next Oladipo

Call me crazy but by the end of the year I think he is the first or second guy off the bench.

When I am selling OG as a great get, it s not because there is a chance he will beat out three year players who have also worked hard and know what they are doing.

That's not what is supposed to happen.

Remember this post: Starting to think that OG is a major sleeper for more reasons than just his athleticism.

He's a fantastic student (and is the son of an IU B School grad who is a business professor). Really smart, personable kids with lots of natural ability tend to shine.

The way he writes, even on Twitter.

The way the people that are interacting with him at IU are dropping hints. Marni Mooney is seldom wrong:

  • marnonthemoonThe best and funniest part about OG is that he posed for this picture. I've never met anyone like him! The fans are going to love this kid! Happy bday OG!!! @oanunoby
  • lasrileyHappy Birthday, @oanunoby!
  • oanunobyThank you!

Bumpity, bumpity, bump, bump, bump!!

HoosierTrav and others nailed it.

I have always been on the OG bandwagon too.  You can tell he is not afraid of the big stage.  I am not ready to call him a starter yet--but I am ready to get him more minutes.  He is averaging double figures in our 3 Big Ten games as a freshman just a little behind Bryant. Now---that's saying something.  So glad he said NO to Iowa!
