It's about the only thing he knows in basketball so he may as well incorporate it into his wardrobe as well.

if you believe that the weave is all he knows then his coaching job in the 2012-2013 would of been one hell of a coaching job. A coach that only knows how to run the weave won a big 10 title outright. Although I might not agree that he is the right person for this job, I'm going to go ahead and give a little more respect then saying all he knows is the weave. There is only 351 head coaches in division 1, he was a d-1 coach before iu and he could be a d-1 coach after iu if he wanted it.

@insidethehall: Indiana's second exhibition opponent, Bellarmine, fell 71-55 today at Louisville.

I was at this game and Bellermine didn't look good at all. Supposed to be one of the top D2 teams again this year I believe but they have no athleticism, not good shooting, defense wasn't good either. They had 1 player that will prolly score 25 against us (George Scruggs) but other than that I expect us to handle them much easier than UofL did. UofL struggled to score for most of the game... Missed a lot of easy open shots around the basket.

Crean does a great job with the offense. We are usually near the top in the country---that is not the problem and offense is what he is known for and respected for by the other coaches.  Defense---is another story. Defense is the determining factor this year between a very good and a great team. No excuses now that our regulars have another year of seasoning under their belts. I expect dramatic improvement this year---get it done Hoosiers!

When I said the weave is about the only thing he knows I was intentionally exaggerating.  His teams are great in transition, I'll give him that.  I think the offense leaves quite a bit to be desired in the half court, too much standing around and too little ball movement; if the weave fails they back it out and try again if that fails someone dribbles the air out hoping to go one on one.

My comment about him selling 1 year carried by DWade was serious.  He's a good salesman, not a good coach and my opinion on that won't change unless we see a heck of a lot more than we've seen in his 7 years here (and 9 at Marquette).
