2015 #IUBB Offseason Thread

Sounds to me like something the Kardashians would think of, which kind of makes it a bad idea by default.

Yeah, getting involved with the Kardashians has a history of not ending well. Athletes please be aware or you might end up a completely different person if you know what I mean. I hope I didn't offend anyone here.

I saw it on snapchat now. I wouldn't trust just what they're wearing in a practice. Could just be his jersey wasn't clean.

Yeah after getting permission directly from Vic to wear #4 that would be weird for him to change. Maybe his got bloody from taking a charge. :)

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it appears Rojo will wear #22 this year (SIAP). Also, Arizona picked up a commitment from 4-Star PF Lauri Markkanen (2016) this morning. Would appear to bode well for IU and Davis.

If we can fend off Howland and Mississippi State, haha.  Man I want Davis just as bad as Brown.  We get those two, just call it a class unless Rawle or Thon want to come aboard.  We'll figure out the numbers later.

Sorry if I'm repeating someone else here but did anyone know TB is in a walking boot?

Just saw a picture of him at the football game

Not surprising. Crean announced at B1G Media Day that he's struggling with a sore foot. Didn't notice the boot today though.

I honestly want Davis worse than Brown. Mainly because we already have a good SG/PG combo in the class with Curtis Jones. Obviously I want both though. I just think there is a bigger need for someone with Davis' skill set in this class.

I think many will find this intriguing. From umhoops in an article about Max Bielfedt.

“Coach Beilein is more of a teacher,” Bielfeldt said. “He’ll want you to be able to sit in the film room for an hour and be able to describe every cut and name it something so everyone has their own language, whereas (Indiana coach Tom) Crean will kind of just throw you out on the floor and have you run stuff and kind of coach while he goes.”

Beilein is known by his players for planning out every minor detail in the team’s practice and workout schedule a month in advance, so when Bielfeldt gets a text from Crean saying the team has the day off just a few hours before practice, the difference between the two can be glaring.

“It’s very bizarre and different to compare the two coaching styles,” Bielfeldt said. “Coach Crean’s definitely a more passionate guy, while Beilein is more of a, I’ll use the word ‘Mastermind,’ sitting back and trying to see the big picture and weigh things out.”

No longer possessing the luxury of time to learn a system over a season or two, though, Bielfeldt knows Crean’s spontaneity will help Bielfeldt learn quickly.

@insidethehall: For those hoping to watch Hoosier Hysteria online, BTN Plus lists streaming of the event beginning at 6:25 p.m. ET: https://t.co/QQZNgoQ15V

@insidethehall: It would appear that a month of the BTN Plus school pass ($9.95) will get you Hysteria access plus Ottawa, Bellarmine and the opener.

I'm torn here. I don't know if I should laugh because that is such an accurate description, or cry because we're paying 3+ million per year for that and the AD thinks "eh screw it, good enough".

precisely why I posted it. Our resident insider, always discussed how disorganized the program was/is as well. These quotes appear in line with that premise. Also, why some players WANT to play for him. Also, WHY we turn the ball over like crazy and have troubles in bounding the ball. If the talent was UK quality it would work, but he can't recruit on that level but he wants to play that game.

Yeah, I was thinking it explains why we look so undisciplined so often. No structure.

He's supposed to be their coach, not their friend. Crean can't recruit at the level Cal can, no one can, but he's not the coach Cal is either.

I think Max's comments are based on a small sample of time so things could change and Crean may start the year loose then tighten things up. If however this is representative it would also explain why Creans teams have not ordinarily done well in the postseason.
