From reading a thread on the Alabama site, they'd love to have Crean.  Several telling statements in one post on why Alabama fans would be happy with Crean -  "Because he doesn't have to play Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State, Maryland, Iowa and Purdue every night? Let's face it - the SEC isn't exactly a murderer's row of blue-blood teams with elite coaches. He also wouldn't be living under the microscope of a fan-base who think they're a 10 when they're really a solid 7.

We don't really need him to have "more" success here than at Indiana. I'd settle for "as much."

"We've qualified for one NCAA tournament in the last 9 years.I'd give the next coach one of my kids if he got us to a Sweet 16."

"a sweet 16 every four years or so with making the tournament every year seems reasonable"

I can understand the sentiment of wanting to find an up and coming coach but they're crazy if they think they're going to pull in a coach with as much on his resume as Crean outside of taking the risk on a guy like Howland.  They won't get a more accomplished coach than him.
