#23 IU defeats #13 Maryland 89-70 post game thread

This sums it up...when I was a kid growing up in Indiana, I had a hoop outside of my house (as most did) and there was a street light next to the hoop.  On the weekends, there was always a game going, people would come, people would go, but the game went on until everyone had to go home.  It would go from 5 on 5, to 3 on 3, to horse and 21, and back.  Week days after school, we would play until dinner and then after.  We played in the rain, in the heat, in the cold...I can't tell you how many times I was supposed to shovel the snow off the drive way, but I started with hoops court.  If you wanted to find me, I was outside shooting hoops.  I painted regulation lines on the street so that I could practice FT's and 3-pointers.  And the day after my last varsity game my senior year when we were put out of sectionals (when it was still a single tournament), I was still out there shooting hoops.

Great story! The hoop outside of my mom's house has a claim to fame: it was played on by Pat Graham. The family that lived in the house before we moved in in '92 had a daughter who went to school and played on the women's basketball team, and her and Pat Graham were friends. So, he used to help her practice on the goal in the driveway! That's where I learned my hoops as well (I never played past elementary school though!).

To be fair, "overrated" is the dumbest chant in all of sports. Shouldn't we want the team we destroyed to be a great team instead of degrading them?

I did love Nananananana Hey Hey Hey Goodbye though.

Myself, I didn't care for either one. Hoosiers fans have more savvy imo than to stoop to those two chants.
Beat OSU!!

Bingo!

I remember those cold winter Indiana nights where we couldn't play outside. My uncle taught me away around that. My brother and I would take an old shoe box, cut a hole in the bottom and hang it upside down on the wall and shoot tennis balls. We'd play all night on that thing. I can still hear myself says "Alford from 3!"

For giggles, I glanced at the PU forum and they are already calling out and discounting what Yogi did last night.

Calling him "Mr. Knee Man".  I hope he has 8 three pointers against those f-sticks.

They are jealous becuase we have all of the shooters and they have none!

Get some motivation Yogi by reading that crap.

I remember shooting baskets rain, shine, moon, snow, etc. This was in our gravel drive before it was paved. Those were great times. I remember using those mini-basketballs from pizza hut marketing in the mid-late 80s before I could handle a full size basketball. Lol I used to 'check' it to myself off the house. That wall was the living room wall and it would knock my mom's figurines over inside the house. Hahaha great memories....

I had one of those hoops that hang on doors in my bedroom. I used that a ton in elementary school. Broke a number of lamps. Lol

We play so much better without Hanner... it's quite sad actually lol.

Crean has this team playing some special ball... this small ball line-up is something to watch. At the start of the season, my goal was to AT LEAST make the dance.. at this point, i think it's safe to say we're dancing.

I couldn't watch the game and I'm too tired/lazy to check a full box score.  Damn, that score is impressive.  I'll give Crean credit, he's doing a good job this season.  That does not change my opinion or mean I'm sold on him going forward, it hasn't and I'm not, but I'll give him credit for that.

Alright, this was a little much. But I understand the adrenaline feels.

@MikeMillerHT: Fan yells "Go back to the ACC" at Juan Dixon as he walks off. Dixon rolls his eyes.

THAT was a stupid thing to say to Dixon. How about some discretion and class in victory/defeat Hoosier fans?

Hope HMP heals quickly. He's starting to show some promise. We'd be stronger with him to rely on.
