rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Everyone has to remember that we all had a lot of growing up to do as teenagers----some of that comes from experience. I learned a lot in high school and at IU---but learned just as much in some ways in the "school of hard knocks"! It's just part of life---lots of faith, patience, and prayers needed! Quote

AKHoosier Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Missouri going down last night certainly has to make them less attractive, especially if they follow it up with a loss at home to a much better Valparaiso team on Sunday. Interesting side note on Missouri: JaKeenan Gant, who was seriously considering IU for a while in the offseason, was held out of Missouri's game last night due to concerns about his eligibility. I wasn't sure where to put this so I'm linking this with what you said about Gant, Goodluck only had 4 pt. and 5 rbs. in 28 minutes against Morehead St. last night. He did have 7 blocks though. Now to get this thread back on topic, come be a Hoosier, Thomas. Napleshoosier and Josh 2 Quote
chitown hoosier Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I really see this coming down to Syracuse and IU. IF the NCAA comes down on Syracuse then he's ours to lose. Of course things can change within the season. Quote
bleedhoosier Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 As much as I want to jump in on this conversation about scholarships, I really like this current team and don't even want to think about it. It always works out though. I do wish we would keep the over recruiting to a minimum because when u keep doing it, we lose those 3and 4 year guys that we will need for deep tourney runs. However, we sorely need a big center to complete this roster, moving forward. Unless they are elite power forwards, I would have left the last two alone possibly. Commit to Devin Davis and Priller, Perea.. maybe Hoetzel (new point forward like "the hollowell project") and leave the pf thing alone for 2 years imo. rebelhoosier848891 and Josh 2 Quote

chitown hoosier Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 It seems like every year we get lucky with missing out on some of these prospects. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Back on topic---Bryant would sure look good in the middle at IU surrounded by all those 3 point shooters! It would make it so difficult to double-team him. bleedhoosier, hoosierski and IUsafety 3 Quote
Dennis Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Haven't heard much on Thomas lately. Would really fill the bill for us. Any news from anyone anywhere? rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I read in the last week---that we are in his final three with Mizzou and Cuse. Can't see why he would want to go to Mizzou even though they have his prior prep school coach as an assistant---they are not a basketball school. Cuse has the NCAA problems---but they are supposed to be in the lead and the team to beat for his services We need a center and have the pieces in place for a Final Four run next year-----hope that puts IU in the lead in the end when it counts! rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Not hearing any inside info either--Dennis. It seems Bryant has decided to watch how the teams play this season---as it may determine whether Crean stays or goes. I predict he will like what he sees from IU and how he may fit in with us---still not sure we can pry him away from Syracuse. 8bucks 1 Quote
BGleas Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 My only issue is the waiting until Spring part. He says he's down to three now. But a lot can change over the next 6 or so months. If Tom Izzo calls, he's not answering? If Billy Donovan calls, he's not answering? I like where we stand, but I'm sure there will be more competition over the course of the season. I have this strange feeling he won't end up at any of the 3 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Always a chance a new team enters the fray---but at least we made his final 3! I am still sick over Leaf----how we went from a leader to not even a finalist. Proof a lot can change in a few months. Quote

Hard to bring a kid that far east even with IU ties. Hoping Crean can add Bryant along with Lyle. Quote
