He will be more like a scurvy tiny flea that Xavier Johnson and Jalen Hood Schifino will swat away as an annoyance. After two games, both against 300+ Kenpom teams, the great Braden Smith is now a total of 3–10 FG, four assists and eight turnovers. And they really have no other option at the point guard position. I'll give him his time. Purdues best case scenario is he becomes Jordy Hulls. I don't think anyone said he'd be Hood-Schifino, though they may end up shooting the same percentages. I think Purdue fans are going for another Chris Kramer. IU/Butler/Notre Dame 1 Quote

I didn’t say this year ….get back to me in 2 years when he is craft or bohannon’ing us….I’m a HS fan and aside from Xavier’s little off court joy ride I’ve been pretty thrilled with him so I’m not suggesting a trade or remorse regarding who we have I just would have liked smith in red instead of black and it won’t be fun to play him as he develops ….his sign and athleticism won’t make him a huge impact guy as a freshman but he will be solid and he’s the type that his game will grow as he begins to take a leadership position with that team Quote

A better shooting and ball handling ( just better offensively ) Chris kramer I think is a great comp Quote
HoosierFan1994 Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Watched other teams last night for the first time. UK (without Oscar), Gonzaga (played outside), UNC, and Purdue. No reason IU can't beat any of them from what I've seen so far. UNC is terrible defensively. Gonzaga I think is extremely overrated. Timmie is a difference maker and that's going to help them. That won’t help, but for me? Even more I think they’re just gonna wear the kid out. They’re already playing him high minutes against cupcakes just to generate a little offense. If he’s going 30 mpg+ at 7’4” it’s potentially an injury or energy problem with constant B1G battles. southsidehoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote
IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 IUPUI went 0-2 in their Iowa trip and both games weren't promising on first impressions, but when the only people that returned were bench players, I figured they'd be stinky. Monday's a real game for sickos; the Jaguars head to Chicago to play Chicago State, a team that no conference wants. Quote

They were flaming garbage for a majority of last season, got a little hot at the end of the year and got a dream NCAA tourney draw. I get why they got the preseason love, but they’re not impressive to me at all. go iu bb, thebigweave, IU/Butler/Notre Dame and 1 other 4 Quote

Fletcher Loyer likes to jack up shots.......but isn't that kind of player yet. FIFY. I don't think he's all that talented. His main talent is being really tall. He's not a total stiff and just being tall is enough to be effective in college so he'll put up really good numbers. ALASKA HOOSIER and IU/Butler/Notre Dame 2 Quote

They remind me of UCLA a few years ago when they had a mediocre season, squeaked into the NCAAT, went on a great run, and were then overrated the next season when they were decent but not great. thebigweave and southsidehoosier 2 Quote

Their two guards and the big boy are legit, but they’ve struggled with two non-P5 teams. They struggled against teams who can put long athletic guys on the floor, especially on offense. I’m sure they’ll figure it out, but they’re far from the consensus #1 team right now. ALASKA HOOSIER, thebigweave and Hovadipo 3 Quote
