Track record.. Painter has an incredible history with Bigs. Edey is the biggest surprise of all. He’s almost unstoppable and no one recruited him. IU on the other hand seems like we get a lot of top 50-100 kids that never impress.

I just still can't get over the fact that that his grandson is on a basketball scholarship. And that his daughter is an associate AD at Duke. Nepotism, anyone? 

His grandson averaged 7.3 points a game during his senior season in high school. And he gets a basketball scholarship at Duke? That's not even good enough for a roster spot on a D-III team -- let alone what's supposed to be the nation's top basketball program. 

Jeezus -- just pay for the kid's school and get the scholarship to someone who actually deserves it. With Mommy on staff, I'm sure he can get discounted tuition. If not, that family paying a year's tuition at Duke would be like anybody else going to Burger King for lunch.

Agreed. I always pull for big ten teams in the non conference. We will certainly have a much better chance of winning games this season but far less chances at high quality wins.

Not sure when, but K went to the dark side, but it was quite a while ago so the adulation he gets as a paragon of virtue is sickening. I don't buy the "everyone does it" excuse. Not everyone provides multi-million dollar homes for top 20 players, only a handful of "schools" do. Ipso facto they are the dirty ones. 

When you have Kentucky fans griping about how dirty Duke is says a lot.

They've lost some serious heavy hitters over the years. They're kinda like AAA baseball for the high-tier mid-major conferences. Apparently Murray State is back in the crosshairs for a new addition, which would be a good add, along with UT Arlington and Kansas City, which would not.

I do find it interesting that Banchero was arrested too and that it was his car. A sober person letting their drunk friend drive their car while they sit in the back doesn’t seem likely to me. Imo, the most likely scenario is that Banchero was more intoxicated than Coach K’s grandson so they decided he’d drive the car. But, who knows.
