Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Must be more to the story about Derek Funderburk getting booted from O$U. Clearly major D1 schools were not beating a path to his doorstep. Former Ohio State F Derek Funderburk is transferring to Northwest Florida State (JUCO). Quote
8bucks Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 If we end up 10th, something went majorly wrong and will be back in the dumps on IU basketball again. There is no reason IU should ever be that low in the conference. It should be an anomaly when we fall out of the top 5. If we aren't top 5, I hope we are damn close this season, it's not like there isn't talent on this rosterSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appIt appears that everyone is buying in to what Archie is saying now but as the season goes on if these kids are used to being coddled and he gets in their Grill that could change. If he has to discipline/kick kids off the team then things may go south record wise but that might be an acceptable short term cost for building the culture he wants. That being said, I think they all buy in and we get a top 5 BT finish. Quote
ALASKA HOOSIER Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 UK deputy AD says Indiana declined CBS Sports Classic invite On Kentucky Sports Radio Monday, Kentucky Deputy Athletic Director DeWayne Peevy says Indiana declined an invitation to participate in the CBS Sports Classic. Much has been made about the suspension of the Kentucky-Indiana basketball rivalry in recent years. After playing annually for 42 years, the Wildcats and Hoosiers haven't met during the regular season since 2011. But serving as guest host on Kentucky Sports Radio Monday, Kentucky Deputy Athletic Director DeWayne Peevy said Indiana was invited to take part in the CBS Sports Classic but declined. The CBS Sports Classic, an annual double-header that features UK, North Carolina, Ohio State and UCLA, has been played every year since 2014 and recently signed an extension through the 2019 season. New Indiana coach Archie Miller told fans and media at Huber's Orchard and Winery in early June that the resumption of the rivalry "needs to happen." Like Kentucky coach John Calipari, Miller is a Pittsburgh native and his new IU staff features former Calipari assistant Bruiser Flint. UK leads the all-time series 32-25. The Wildcats beat the Hoosiers in the NCAA South Regional semifinals en route to the national championship in 2012. Indiana returned the favor with a second round NCAA Tournament win over Kentucky in 2016. Author Chris Fisher @ChrisFisher247 What a crock of poo! Quote
