So apparently UCLA tampered with Tounde Yessefou and not Kentucky?  Or UCLA tampered better?  What’s going on here.

The kid is from Santa Maria, CA so I don't blame him for going to UCLA.  Lexington or back home to LA?  That wouldn't be a hard decision for me.

I thought Yessoufou would for sure enter the draft. I guess he still might but that would be a big W for UCLA.

Is there any difference between tampering and recruiting anymore?  I think it's the same at this point.

You've got to start tampering with your targets early, they love all that tampering attention.  That's the key to getting players.  :-)

A couple of stories that I read, he has a Do Not Contact and got it in a little before the portal was closed while still in the draft.  Sounds like he knows where he wants to go if his draft stock isn't high enough, and I don't think Pope has shown much to help him get to the league.

Yeah, I agree with that. But it’s fun to blame some of them.  Dusty was getting a lot of heat all season for it from rival non Indiana fanbases.  It seems to me they are just good at recruiting these day?  Those who tamper best through 3rd parties?

With Dusty pulling in all kinds of player through the portal, Michigan State is whiffing.  Sounds like Izzo isn't willing to upset the pecking order in terms of NIL $ -- he's unwilling to pay guys that would be transferring to Michigan State more than players he already has.  Couldn't even get a visit from Sherrell.  Whiffed on other guys (Yigi was also a target of Michigan State's).  Thiam didn't even have Michigan on his list until a couple of days before he announced he would be taking a visit to Michigan.  At the end of the day, the center that Michigan State ended up with is Anton Bonke of Charlotte -- ranked as the 19th best transfer center by 247 -- that's six spots lower than a center who picked DePaul.

Mara announced his intentions to enter the NBA draft while keeping college eligibility for now.  Have to think he'll stay in the draft and Thiam replaces his role at Michigan.

Incredible work by them.  McKinney is guard i’d project to have 1 of the biggest sophomore leaps in the county. Kid is so good. The 5 star freshman they just added is a man.  So physical and built as a freshman.  Estrella. The other big coming of injuries. If Florida is 1, Michigan is 2.  Seems like a clear top 2 this year already.

Now far be it for me to tell the geniuses at cow pasture state up in West Lansing what to do, but couldn’t they solve their little quandary by paying a couple of their current guys a little more?
