Demo Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Coolest action I’ve seen in a while. Incorporating an Iverson cut into an otherwise standard hammer set completely flummoxed the rotation. Hell of an idea by Kerr. The pass by Looney’s awesome. A 6’10” guy on the move making a perfect left handed pocket pass. Love it. WayneFleekHoosier and thebigweave 2 Quote
BtownStrength Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 For the statistics crowd, Hali has the 4th highest VORP in the league this year, behind only Luka, Jokic, and KD. IMO the only reason he isnt getting MVP buzz is because the Pacers are a fringe playoff team. Quote

The fact that there’s a debate about him even being an all-star tells you all you need to know about the media’s relationship with the Pacers. J34 and thebigweave 2 Quote

Is this a long term thing? Is it specifically to aindianapolis? Other stars in small markets seem to get respect and coverage (Dame, SGA and previous OKC stars, Zion, etc). Quote

I just know that even when they’re worth talking about, they get ignored. The PG Pacers didn’t start getting national media attention until they had been relevant for multiple years. I don’t remember how Reggie was treated nationally, but he seems pretty underrated the further we get away from his playing days. How is no one talking about what Haliburton is doing? Hield being 24-34 from 3 in his last 5 games (and being the best shooter in the league all year)? Mathurin being a top-3 rookie? And unless they decide to trade Myles and Hield, this team is going to easily make the playoffs. Yet the 13th-in-the-West Lakers are a media priority. It’s crazy. The Pacers certainly should be getting more coverage. Idk about mainstream media as I rarely watch ESPN anymore, but if you wander to NBA reddit thr Pacers are getting praise frequently. And as a Lakers fan, I would appreciate it if the media gave us 0% of their attention to this dumpster fire. Hovadipo and Loaded Chicken Sandwich 1 1 Quote

Demo Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Sure, it’s a cliche, but it’s still funny as hell whenever somebody gets propped for some ridiculous stat line and then it’s noted that, yeah, Wilt already did that. Quote

With 3 first round picks this year, do you think they try to package a couple and trade up/get a missing piece from a selling team? thebigweave 1 Quote

My wife has told a few people since that she was "just along for the ride" but she really enjoyed it too. (I think she has a thing for Haliburton now.) They definitely have a nice young core to build around. My only complaint was Paul George scoring 45 and the refs calling phantom fouls on anyone who closely guarded their two (former Pacer) stars. thebigweave and BtownStrength 2 Quote
