Larranaga is a good coach. I remember watching him way back in his MAC days. Could be weather. Maybe Brown doesn't want all the IU attention. Maybe he wants to play Duke and Carolina every year.  Could be anything....good luck to him.

Bruce Brown wants to be the star and leading scorer. Miami graduates it's best 2 guards. He is likely a starter and go to player day 1. IU couldn't offer that with certainty.

It's why Purdue was in the mix too.

Everything I've heard indicates this was a fast last-minute change. I'd say Marni correctly believed he was going to be here next year, right up until he wasn't.

Its not really a mystery, if JBJ stays (which I think he will) we have four guards on the roster and Miami could offer Bruce Brown immediate playing time and probably guaranteed him a starting spot, and that is not something we could do right now. Miami is also getting a commitment from a 2016 5 star big man today as well so that probably had some pull.

The flip surprised me given that Crean has a close relationship with the VA coach.  He has gone up there to work coaching clinics.  Hopefully the relationship will bear something in the future.

We may never know the reason for what looks like a last minute switch. I am disappointed because he is a talent, but there are other guards. We will be fine. Again, to me, Davis was the must get recruit. Who knows, maybe the recruiting winds will blow Rawle our way!

 

On to the next---we only want recruits who get IU and are willing to put in hard work.

I always thought it was weird how his final schools were UMass, Xavier, Purdue, Miami, and IU.

 

Just a little weird for a top 40 guard, basically have a bunch of lower tier schools and then IU.  Reminds me of (gasp) Jeremy Hollowell.

I've already moved on--but have we heard from Brown WHY he chose Miami over IU? Just curious.
