(2016) C Thon Maker

Recommended Posts

heck yeah! Bring em' back to Btown for the HH! that would seal the deal.

If we land Thon- we shoot up to #15 in the 2016 recruiting class
if we land Thon, Deron D and Mario K, we shoot up to #1 over MSU.

As you can tell, i was playing witht the http://indiana.247sports.com/Season/2016-Basketball/Commits/Preview

Why would bringing them back to HH " seal the deal?"

I've been several times and most usually have a blast and it's a great atmosphere . Last year was pretty dead IMO and CTC seemed to be in a mood. Year before that wasn't that great either.

yeah, I've been a few times and was disappointed each time, even when we came in preseason #1. Everyone gets amped and then they bore everyone to death. By the time the men's basketball team comes out the energy is gone and even when they come out, there is just too much downtime between things

Wait, I thought Thon wanted to be the next Durant??

This sounds more like Anthony Davis.

Either way, Let's get Thon.

why have we spent this much time on Thon only to get out worked at the 11th hour? Brilliant recruiting strategy

OK. Even if you don't like watching a bunch of made shots, dunks, and blocked shots, do yourself a favor and ff to about the 2:30 and see what Thon does to this player off the dribble. Btown is ready for you Thon!

I don't like to see highlight tapes period because making a player look good is about the only purpose and they can make nearly anyone look good.

That's nothing against Maker, but highlight tapes in general.

This has more to do with Ed Smith having no clue how to "handle" a recruitment like this. Ed Smith changes his mind faster than a 13 year old girl. And the whole 4 around 1 selling point is a JOKE! Does he realize that the best way to eliminate a double team is to pair him with other players that cant be left alone? Does he realize that this means Thon will be spending the majority of his time in the post, thus taking his biggest threat to opposing defenses (His perimeter jumper) out of the equation? Thon is not very good with his back to the basket yet and even when he does become proficient in that area, that's not all you want him to be limited to.

I bet I could sell Ed Smith ANYTHING!!!

It's so weird to me that we have a full meltdown thread about some CB picks for Miss St on Kegler, but continue to just assume we already have Thon locked up despite having no CB picks. I think CB picks are generally crap and we are in good shape with Thon, though I'd be more comfortable with any positive news in the recruiting for the last like 4 months, but it really says something about the mentality. Probably has to do with immediacy, if Thon is waiting until the spring we don't have to be concerned about it until the spring, while we only have two weeks to worry about Kegler!

I've only seen guys who have a much more positive view of the current state of the program thinking we have him locked up. Not many else seem to think that..... also was about to make this exact reply. I've always just kind of assumed we were going to lose on Thon and Alkins
