Well I know folks have said to him that they would like to see him on the IU bench as a grad assistant or assistant and he has laughed and said that would never happen while Crean was the coach

 

I think the same for Watford too but I got the sense that Crean and Dipo were close

Looks like he's leaning back on his right leg whereas Christian is standing straight with both feet even.

I've heard about the same thing.  From what I heard, 'respect' yes but 'like' no.

The same was said about Knight. Respect? Yes. Like? Yeah right. One thing I have learned over the years if you liked a coach they typically aren't pushing you enough. Now beyond that you can also completely disagree with a way a coach is using you. When you aren't consistently winning, dissenting opinions will occur. What was Vic before he came to IU? 4th best player on his HS team. After IU? 2nd pick in the draft. That isn't even close to all Crean, but ignoring what Crean did for him is also ignorant. He may not like him cause he is a weird and annoying dude. But if he didn't respect him he wouldn't come back every summer since he left.

I doubt any of Creans former players actually like him. That's a guy that's bound to rub u the wrong way eventually. No wonder we had 5 transfers a year.

We actually didn't have a transfer his last couple of years of scholarship players. Considering the 600 transfers in D1 every year that is impressive. We will have transfers under Archie as well. I hope this isn't something that becomes a thing like we are the only one this happens to. Plus if we start pulling recruits like Watford and Brooks on a regular basis we don't have to worry about this.

5 a year?  C'mon.

good thing Knight never had anyone transfer.  The bottom line is that if a coach is winning, if a player transfers the fans blame the player.  If the coach isn't winning, the fans blame the coach.  It's never that black and white,

Yeah, I think there was some frustration at times but not surprised Crean was there. Hard to hate a coach when things are going well i.e. #1 team in the country. Had to be a fun time overall

Crean was at Watfords wedding. I think they might be a little close. 

A lot has been overblown with Crean. His most "loved" guys actually didn't love him and vise versa lol. I have heard many stories about all of them, but only guys for sure I know of was Cody & Noah. Yogi and family LOVED him as we all know. Watford's situation was more his family not him personally which is why like Brass said he was at his wedding so. Every coach has these things though. Their teenagers and were all the "man" in HS so feelings are bound to be hurt.

Back to the most important part is Trendon and this kid is gonna be special. Besides Wiseman he would be my main target. Nothing against Keion Brooks. Kid is great too, but Trendon man oh man. I see him rising very high this time next year.
