Cig presser today, some interesting bits this time:

- Said they're ahead of where they were offensively in 2025

- Will support Daley and Wyatt's efforts to get eligible.  They'll be on the team and practicing.

- Harris has missed some practice with a knee tweak, tbd if he or Gandy start

- Wilson QB2 right now

- Morris is top punt returner.  Gowers and Warren battling for punter.

The latest announcement by the B1G that is set to not allow players that has declared for the draft and did not withdraw, appeared on an NFL roster or signed a contract with a pro league will affect Daley and Wyatt I assume?  Technically someone that is out of eligibility would not declare so I am unsure if truly this means if they file and are granted a TRO, they would be ineligible.

Did they actually declare for the draft?   I was under the impression they didn’t because they weren’t going to be ready in time.

SEC released a similar statement.   
 

Technically you can get an injunction against them just like the NCAA. But If they join hands as conferences to fight this legally and succeed, you might be witnessing the first steps of the P2 finally discarding the useless NCAA.

Daley has an announcement on his socials.  The sticky part is they were essentially out of eligibility so technically they don't HAVE to declare.  If the NCAA had just made this announcement in January 2027 and not in August 2026, they likely would have avoided the 2022 class fighting for their 5th year.  There is no reason at this point they needed to exclude the 2022 class from having 5 years.  They are just fighting for control they never seem to be able to gain because they are so inept at decision making it's easy to fight them and win in court.  I don't agree with signing with an NFL team, being cut, and going back to college.  I guess you can argue as these players have they would have stayed in college if not out of eligibility but to actually sign, get paid, play in the preseason, and then go back is WILD to me and shouldn't be allowed.

ACC has indicated they are onboard as well.

There’s no way Cig didn’t know about this yesterday when he said they were gonna support SD and KW. 
 

By looks of it our guys would be unaffected by this.  Will wait till somebody more in the know confirms

Heard Pete Thamel on McaFee’s show say that to his knowledge neither Daley or Wyatt would be affected and could potentially still play.

Back in the Tom Crean era, we had a foreign recruit that was ruled ineligible because he played two minutes in a game with professionals. Two minutes.

Thanks to all who have brought what they have heard/seen here on the subject.  I really wasn't sure because of so many differing things out on X being 'reported'.

I saw on X there is an appeal on the case in Colorado already, but it is unlikely to be heard quickly is what they are reporting.  Best bet is to have the state issue a TRO.  I'd imagine with Cig's statement yesterday maybe that is in the works.  Would be great to have them eligible by the start of B1G play if it's going to happen.

And we’ve also historically had guys sign big pro deals in other sports, collect professional money, and then play college football as “amateurs.” Jeremy Bloom, Drew Henson, and Chris Weinke come to my mind but there have been others.  
 

The NCAA has a hard time enforcing these rules outside of their own petty tribunals because they have a long history of just kind of doing whatever they wanted.

The last group to sign off on it should be this afternoon.  Will this apply to basketball also?  LSU just signed Luis who was literally traded from Utah to Boston and went, Nah.  The conferences need to save the coaches from themselves.  I heard on the radio at lunch that the SEC is now looking into the same rule along with the ACC.
