str8baller Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM I’d say unlikely. Unlikely we’re in something like Kenpoms preseason top 25 either based on aggregate talent rankings. I don’t think it’s Devries style. He’s not the salesman type. I think he’s more of a slow builder from the ground up type. That makes it all the more frustrating he decided to go all seniors this year. Kentuckysucks, skhoosier2 and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

Pay for a top 10 or 15 PG. Pay for a top 10 or 15 C. Pay for another guard or wing on that level. Moneyball the rest. I feel like that should produce a top 25 team. mid major roster building isn’t likely to do it. Agree on the roster building. We absolutely need a top flight PG. That is a must. Can't "Enright" or "Conorway" that position. Get a long, athletic big, and then surround those guys with dogs, athletes and playmakers. Add a shooter or two around them. This offseason needs to be a big swing. Were like an NBA team that's in the play-in every year. At some point this program needs to make a leap and get some momentum. It's needs to happen. Not recruiting or IU basketball related but I just became a subscriber bc I love the UFC and now there aren’t ppv anymore. All the big fights are on paramount plus. 24/7 is part of the paramount/CBS network. So I subscribed to 24/7 and get paramount+ premium for an additional $2 a month over what I’d pay for paramount by itself. Muskie plays the four, Pagoda and Home Jersey 3 Quote

Seeing how it all played out…I wish for his sake and ours that Tucker had been healthy all last year. DDv gets some additional tourney experience and then comes here with a fresh start, without his $2M+ dollar hobbled son playing below expectations all season. Hiring him in mid-March didn’t set us up any better anyway. Maybe that’s too harsh, I don’t know AZ Hoosier, Home Jersey and skhoosier2 3 Quote

How can you have such a ranked class without any impact makers? If that really happens, we're dead. Gotta build. There likely isn't enough money and/or portal "stars" to get there. Quote

This year there are a few very notable examples. So you never know. Probably the most strange year ever in that regard with Wagler and the Houston kid. It was a stacked class and probably an anomaly. Time will tell. Class ranking doesn’t indicate the players immediate impact. Moody looks good. Has tools and size. Has a chance to carve out a role. Karvala is an interesting recruit. Not sure where playing time comes from immediately. Athletic kid. Manhertz, will likely get bullied. If shooting is there he can make an impact but it’s a huge step up for him. A lot of the 5 star type guys are freaks in one way or another. Common to see those guys make impacts immediately for good teams. But the miss too. Counting on a mid leveled recruit to be an impact maker AS A FRESHMAN on a winning team is a losing strategy. Edited 23 hours ago by WayneFleekHoosier ronzo4IU and Alford Bailey 2 Quote

I can squint and see Moody having an impact. The other 2 not so much. But it’s so hard for freshman. This year is such an anomaly with so many good ones. Makes me wonder if I need to recalibrate, but it’s just a special class. Manhertz as a reclass (to original class) is interesting. I just don’t know who he can guard. skhoosier2 1 Quote

The talent to compete next year is coming from the portal. If you are that confident in a top 20 class tell us which recruit you expect to have an impact next season?? Quote

It’s projected over time. We have 3 higher rated kids but middle enough you don’t expect those guys to carry the load as freshmen. Which is fine. If we had a top 15 or 20 kid maybe. But it’s all projection. Quote

realTomCrean Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago We’d be smart to get the best PG money can buy with Haralson and Bidunga (confirmed committed already btw) + 2 6’11 European 28 year olds Quote

Every team ahead of us I. The conference standings had a better PG. it’s a guards game. We need a rim protector though, just because it’s a guards game doesn’t mean we ignore size and physicality at all positions. Alford Bailey and skhoosier2 2 Quote

Look at our success and failures: Jordy, EG, Yogi, Curtis Jones (that one game against Kansas 2016) - Gold Xavier J, Newkirk, Phinese, Cupps, Rice, Conerway, Green - Yuck Quote
