Mopladysman Posted Monday at 01:38 AM Posted Monday at 01:38 AM We got screwed by timing again. If Fran doesn’t move on maybe we’d have him. Oh well. Quote

To me that’s the reality not coping. He won’t get more NIL. Iowa struggled to pay their football NIL last year. A large booster had to cover it all to keep things whole. He got a Stirtz discount bc he had him since his freshman year at multiple universities. They will be solid but this team will be about as good as it gets. Good for them. It would be blasphemy to play that slow in Chapel Hill. No coach has a monopoly on winning. So UNC will get someone that will play a style that fits their DNA. Quote
Home Jersey Posted Monday at 01:41 AM Posted Monday at 01:41 AM I've read McCollum may "value" the Kansas job but wouldn't bet on him leaving Iowa. Quote
Stuhoo Posted Monday at 01:41 AM Posted Monday at 01:41 AM UF’s guards have been their weakest players. Fland had a great defensive game until Iowa’s last possession and then he really f’d up by letting Stirtz catch it on the run past the three point circle. And Lee clearly needed to stop and get a shot up. And Golden REALLY messed up that possession with 8.9 seconds left. Took Iowa 3.5 seconds to get a wide open shot. But the talent level is what it is. It won’t be better than this year. I’ve never said he isn’t a good coach or he doesn’t win. I just maintain it’s terrible basketball to watch and I wouldn’t want him coaching my favorite team. Other coaches can win big and play a better style. It’s not like McCollum will win a national title and nobody else ever will until he retires. BluegrassHoosier859 and Jeff Flabjohns 1 1 Quote

He's certainly got his program in much better position than Indiana's! Money isn't everything. Lol... the guy who is doing more with less. Going to the second weekend and knocked off the #1 seed defending champs on that shoestring budget of his. You think his recruiting is only going to get worse at Iowa compared to the D2 school he was at after putting Stirtz in the NBA? We will see. I wouldn't bet against the guy. skhoosier2, FortWayneHoosier, 8bucks and 2 others 5 Quote
Demo Posted Monday at 01:43 AM Posted Monday at 01:43 AM What an atrocious defensive structure by Florida. I don’t get what they thought were trying to take away. Not taking away the guy you knew was gonna get it and not only that, allowing him to use an innocuous screen to receive it on the dead run with his defender in a trail position and creating practically speaking a straight up fast break opportunity. That was bad bad. go iu bb, Stuhoo, Home Jersey and 1 other 4 Quote

Magnanimous Posted Monday at 01:47 AM Posted Monday at 01:47 AM I’ll repeat what I said in 2021, Ben McCollum is the best coach in the country. Glad we didn’t hire him… Quote
