I don’t disagree, but the reality is with a senior laden team it’s better to spend that team focusing on the portal.

We’ve completely regressed on defense to atrocious. We were at least average-ish before. 
 

Roster is bad but looks to me like the coaching has been bad too.

I was hoping fears would kick reed Bailey in the nuts today! He should've never played another second after getting beat back on defense and giving up a coast to coast layup. Dude never turned his head to find the ball.

I mean I guess. For the Seniors sake. But this team isn’t fun to watch.  It’s agonizing trying to watch these guys perform above their capabilities, and then get owned on the defensive end possession after possession.

I kind of said that tic, but I'm with you. We were never in this game from the foul 12 seconds from opening tip and they made 2 free throws. 2 things I absolutely can't stand with basketball...missed free throws and the inability to play defense and rebound! This team absolutely sucks at the latter!  

We've got to do better this off-season!

Nebraska springboard this year from winning it last year.   IU declined last year.   The top 2 NET teams from B1G, Big 12 and Big east I believe  that don’t make the tourney are automatically in if they want to be.

They had a bunch of players retuning. We don’t. Frankly, we need every second of a head start to begin the transfer portal season…and before anyone says we have returning players…if anyone thinks Jason Drake, Ristic, Amicov, Miles are high major contributors in the Big Ten, then I assure you, we will be right back where we are yet again next year….Probably worse if they are rotation players. I would say Sisley maybe, but at this point, Im not sure he’s even in the future based on the fact he plays no minutes now…Frankly, I wouldn’t be opposed to start anew again next year. The frustrating thing is, we all knew what we were missing (length and athleticism) and CDD didn’t address it as last off season continued

I don’t think they brought back as many as people think.  Hoibergs son.  Mast was hurt all of last year.  Essigain played last year out nothing this year.   Bryce Williams and Gary were there man guards last year both were seniors.   I think it might seem like they did because in the portal this year they brought back a player that played for them that transferred to Rhode Island for last year.   I’m guessing if you look it up most the players on this years team didn’t play in that Crown run

Only 3 players that played for Nebraska in their Crown run is on their roster this year.   Essigian isn’t playing this year so I didn’t count him as one of the 3. Same with Mast not playing for them last year

IU social media accounts are mad that students are booing Reed Bailey…. The guy got 1.5 million dollars. He’s set for his future… It’s fair game. The expectations were set when you got the heavy deal

Exactly. $1.5M to be relegated to the bench and provide absolutely nothing for the grand majority of the season.

Honestly…. I think cleaning house almost might be better. We have a GM now that can help somewhat bandaid the scholarship situation. We have no direction at this point. I would be scouting day and night every player who might be in the portal over scouting Minnesota, osu, and our big 10 tourney game. DeVries has got to get the this right. We need some kind of projection or direction. Right now we have what 5 returning role players who aren’t major minutes guys, who might never be.

Wholeheartedly agree. CDD tried to stitch together a team quickly this off season and it didn’t pan out. We have Carr and a full year under our belt where we can go out and get High major players. Last year we didn’t have much time. We also have some high major recruits coming from high school.

Two starters though, which is two more than we’ll have. 
 
There’s literally nothing to build on with this roster. Unless they’re going to play Sisley Dorn and Miles 35mpg in the tourney which then I suspect would last exactly one game.

Yeah, no it’s not fair game. We had a big time recruit there today. Why the hell do you think he’s gonna come play for this POS fan base after experiencing that today? So good luck with all the recruiting you guys want to do.
