Josh Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Man, John Freaking Groce is a better coach than Devries. Dolson made such a bad hire Quote
MikeRoberts Posted March 14 Posted March 14 What happened to Sisley? He ended the season getting almost no run. Quote

Watching him win his third conference title in a row last night at Akron made me realize that as bad as he was at Illinois, he still is likely a better coach than Devries Quote

I’m still kind of in disbelief that after waiting out the Archie and then Woody years were going into another tournament with IU. I think I’ve changed my mind on the post season. These guys are all being paid. They should drag their sorry butts to whatever Crown or NIT tournament that will have them and try and win something. They could all use the practice, coaches included. Look across the most successful coaches in the sport right now. Lots of similarities. A natural fire and passion being one of the most obvious. If we had that type of coach most of our fanbase would say our coach is too mean to the players. Dusty May is one of the few winning at the top level that isn’t a borderline passion lunatic. But his talent is incredible. jermhoosierfan and Ryno6284 2 Quote

Most people are natural followers. If that person was winning our fanbase would defend them to the death like they did with Knight. But instead we’ve hired losers for 25 years so our fanbase has become proficient in excuse making and scapegoating for losing basketball. btw, I’m not sure if I buy that about May. He has that choir boy persona going with the media but behind the scenes he seems to be pissing everyone off. Quote

That's just a reminder of how mismanaged our basketball program has been. Quote
