FortWayneHoosier Posted January 7 Posted January 7 We win this one...I will have a lot more belief in this team. Id really like to see us obviously hit our shots, but really try to get some good cuts to the basket.....Conerway and Wilkerson would be ideal....also if Bailey is gonna play he has got to finish strong around the rim. Uspshoosier Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Probably IUs most winnable road game left on the schedule besides Rutgers. Maryland is 162 in the NET. Q3 game however winning away from home is always a plus. Need at least 4 wins away from home when building a resume. Minny is 8 spots from that loss being a Q1 loss. Example of letting the season play out. Most were calling that a loss to one of the worst p5 teams. Minny had a rough stretch but have turned it around. Hopefully they keep improving because IU will get them at home later in the year. While not a must win game for IU tonight they should really do everting they can to win it. There is t many Road opportunities like this one for them tonight mamasa 1 Quote

If Payne comes back Maryland will be a significantly harder opponent. Uspshoosier 1 Quote

I think our offense really gets going when Wilkerson is more aggressive penetrating and not always settling for 3's. Helps space things for the other guys, gets the defense moving side-to-side and creates easier drives for guys like Conorway when the ball is reversed. He's done it some, but would like to see Wilkerson play like that even more. HoosierHoopster, FortWayneHoosier and Home Jersey 3 Quote

This team plays much better when the ball is moving which is a better product to watch also. BGleas, FortWayneHoosier, RoadRage and 1 other 4 Quote

If you watched towards the end against Minny Wilkerson started to try cut to the basket....although it was too late...it was effective. Id too like to see him do it more. Conerway is another one that good at it as well. We shall see if it is utilized tonight. BGleas 1 Quote

Conerway looks like maybe he’s getting a better feel for the speed at this level. But those are your two lead guards. The guys that need to be cutting: Tucker (no lift), Bailey (weak), Enright (athleticism and skill limitations), etc… are barely a threat to finish and score in the paint. After getting stuffed a few times they get tentative and give up. It’s why I think Alexis and Sisley have to find more minutes. Buzz is a good coach. I’m curious how he defends us. Whoozhers 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No Payne, no gain. With Jason Drake out for IU let's call it a draw. Quote
Dave from Dayton Posted January 7 Posted January 7 This will be Indiana University's basketball team coming out party! A win on the road in the Big Ten! I'm envisioning a low turnover, high efficiency, high assist, balls to the walls in defense, excellent rebounding game. Rebounding and fouls...keys to the game...and early starts. PS...Mark Cuban puts more money down on IU athletics. I kid you not. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2026/01/07/mark-cuban-donation-indiana-football-transfer-portal-athletic-department-curt-cignetti-net-worth/88064397007/ Home Jersey 1 Quote
