So much catch-up posting to do.  Hoosiers need to re-group in a big way to knock off PSU (8-1) and avoid an 0-2 start in conference play.  PSU's only loss was 77-65 to Providence.   PSU averages 83 ppg with a +13 scoring margin.  They shoot 51% fg and 38% on 3s.  They have a +2.3 rebounding margin and only turn the ball over 8/gm and get 8 steals/gm.  They have 4 players averaging double figures.  They have 3 players who average 45%+ on 3s but as a team they average less than 20 3-point attempts/gm.

This is only their 2nd road game and 1st against a legit team. We need to win this game.

How is this for insightful….We really, really, really need to win this game.  Going 0-2 against Minnesota and at home vs PSU would be less than optimal.

Tony Adragna did a video breakdown after the Marquette game (I think it was Marquette) and IU’s ball movement, movement on the perimeter, cuts, screens with purpose etc was a beautiful thing to watch. Would love to see that offensive play and great effort from the tip-off.

94 in Kenpom. Marquette is 92 for reference. Of course, Minny is 112.

I haven’t watched PSU this year. Those numbers suggest we should win easily but the last 7 days of IU hoops days otherwise.

We were playing terrible ball over 2 games going into the KSU game. Tend (and hope) to think we'll see a return to the well-run offense and D we saw against KSU and Marquette.

It would be nice to have a good Reed Bailey game. That guy needs some confidence in the worst way.

Yea.  Reed is pretty darn frustrating.  Okay, he's not strong.  But he should have the skills and experience to compensate for that, such as being crafty around the bucket with fakes and footwork, the whole stretch the defense with shooting and quickness thing, and being fundamental and smart on the defensive end.  Hasn't really happened though.  Sometimes I think there is something in the water in Bloomington.  I can only hope he figures it out asap.

Looks like IU -16 tonight.  Would be great to see IU cover because things are wobbly right now...

I really would like to see Lamar hit some 3s at a higher rate....Obviously our opponents have taken away our 3 point shooting by defending it much better...but here is his last few games from 3:

Louisville 2 for 9

Minny 2 for 6

Bethune cookman 1 for 8

KSU 4 for 7 (im ok with this)

Lindenwood 1 for 7

Incarnate word 0 for 3

through 6 games against not so great opponents (other than louisville) thats 10 for 40 from 3.....25 percent....

Yeah…right now Lamar looks like a bad investment. All we can do is hope that he finds his shot soon.

It's been a tough stretch. I think he's not very quick or long for his position and other teams are game planning for him and Tucker, so he doesn't get easy looks too often. I don't mind a well-timed deep 3 but he has settled for bad shots a lot recently IMO. He needs to be constantly moving off ball like Steph Curry. He's not great finishing around the rim but I like when he is actively cutting. Do it enough and the defense will have to adjust and he will get some easier looks. Not to mention potentially get them into foul trouble. We also probably need another shooter on the floor to help spread the floor and take some attention off Lamar.

Gotta have this game tonight.
