ehhh... still played plenty/was a top 7 OL on a national champion. 

He actually played a lot in the 2H last night.

Right, but... those position groups were incredibly strong. 

Sarratt, Becker, Cooper, Morris, Williams, Brady, Chandler, Bond, Jackson is a pretty insane WR core. DBs much the same. 

I get your point, but basically, that's pretty freaking amazing if those two are the examples.

You can’t count depth pieces as misses. He hasn’t missed yet. We didn’t rely on any of the names mentioned to push for a day one starting spot.

Well, he thinks he's the guy right now. Personally, I thought he was legitimately a starter as a Jr/SR. But its unprovable and he's moved on. There is probably a real discussion to be had with HS QB's who want experience early to go FCS or G5, get early experience and then portal to P4. And maybe other positions as well. I've seen some suggestions that IU was willing to pay premium money for a backup QB to keep him, but he's ready to go, he wants to be THE guy. So what do you do. I think its just part and parcel of him being a fierce competitor and a  young man.

Okay so this Josh Hoover is supposed to be QB1   who is the back up  for him someone on our list now who I have not seen play  or someone from the portal  .I mean even the former Nebraska QB is going to sit behind Moore  in Oregon .

Well, Grant Wilson may be able to get another year due to injury, but I'm guessing they look portal for another guy, probably already have, but not sure what you get this late.

That is what I was wonder I saw this Wilson red shirted in 2020  and then was at the school for a 2 years I think then he went somewhere else  for a year and then he came here I was wondering if he had any thing left .I don't think anyone else has had any time at all I know there is Tyler Cherry but again he has been out with an injury so I would kind of think you need a good backup just in case .

Seems like we might have a hole at backup QB.  Going to be hard to recruit top talent "just in case."  Downside of the portal, IMO.  Would have much rather seen Alberto learn for one more year and play two as an upperclassman.

Looking over at the 247 transfer portal seems one of Miami's  QB has entered the portal  wonder if he is any good ?

Without any additions, QB will certainly be thin. We would basically be relying on Hoover's health to avoid potential disaster, as Alberto could have comin and in won us some games. I am not sure on the progression of Cherry and Bell, but I do not have the same level of confidence there. Hope at least one of those 2 takes the next step in development.

Honestly have no idea. I hope so but like someone stated earlier, its hard to grab someone in the portal that is content with coming in as QB2. I do think Cig and staff knew this was coming so they have planned accordingly, even if they wanted to keep Alberto.

Now that you mentioned that ,I think I remember Coach saying he already knew who was leaving or staying but I  was tired and did not really think much of it . I trust the staff and all but boy am I curious about the QB situation .
