Somehow I get the feeling that this isn’t going to meet Coach Cignetti’s standards.

Two seasons without any drama or off the field issues and then a portal “star” brings us this.  No thanks.  It just doesn’t sit well with me.  Makes me uneasy.

A lot of pearl clutching over a blurry photo of a phone screen where it isn't even confirmed to be the fanduel app. It looks like it could be the dropbox app as much as it could be fanduel.

He didn’t even do anything, though. He came to Atlanta to support his new team, and then some rondo took a picture of him and posted it. CFB Twitter has been bugging out ever since we belted Oregon. They can’t handle the new superpower. If Twitter was to be believed, we’re only good because we’ve hacked the other team’s headsets and know all their plays.

It’s definitely FanDuel but the convo here has jumped the shark for sure lol.

Okay…I do admit that I overreacted to this rumor.  Mea culpa.  Sorry.  I thought we were seeing the football gods reaching down to take our success away from us.  The timing just felt so horrible.

Twitter also accused an IU Defensive staffer that has a bachelors in Cyber Defense of being hired to hack into practice film/drive’s of opposing teams lol

Don't forget that we're older than some NFL teams and have 7th, 8th and 9th year seniors beating up on a bunch of poor kids.

Bigger issue regarding Marsh that nobody has brought up is the fact that he’s not even 21. Legal gambling age is 21 and anybody who is familiar with these gambling apps knows that there is a verification process that requires you to submit a photo of yourself along with your ID. So if he is in fact gambling, he’s gambling under somebody else’s identity which is a completely different (and bigger) issue.

Are there any other rules we can speculate with no relevant evidence that Nick Marsh might have broke?

This is a non-story.

Having a sports betting app on your phone isn't relevant evidence to the speculation Marsh may be gambling on sports? I don't think it's something to be hugely concerned about, but "non-story" seems like the opposite side of the same coin.

You can look at lines without actually betting/even logging in/even having an account.

Are there any updates on Joe Brunner, do we have a timeline for Makhi Frazier’s arrival on campus, are there additional players we’re still targeting?

Frazier is apparently scheduled to be in Btown this Thursday.

Brunner? Because he's already been in Bloomington, no news is bad news IMO.

Doesn't seem like we are looking hard at any O lineman.  Bostad is an elite coach seems like many would like to play for him but it could also be about $$.  I saw what some of those lineman are commanding...

I called it a non-story because no one CFB media mentioned it, notably the CFB sicko/nerd podcasts and YT channels who will talk about the most niche news in CFB.  Right now it's a few posts on X and Reddit reacting to the picture.  IMO, until there is any traction beyond that, I don't think there is much to a one-click download of FanDuel.  We'll see, I can only guess...

It's an interesting one.  The market for these guys is red hot -- $1.5-2M or something like that for starter level talent?  And not many are in the portal.  I personally don't think it's money given how much our NIL is up and right now Cig can call anyone and get extra cash in about two minutes.

I kinda suspect we may be going the retention/development route?  Whatever we're doing, it's nice I don't need to worry with the staff.  But yea, interesting...

I feel as if we are gonna have one surprise retention between Cooper, Ponds, and Carter Smith.

Based on our portal recruiting Smith is the leading candidate.
