2025-2026 IU Roster

Recommended Posts

I’m only worried about our top 7-8 players for next year. Looking at the teams that played in the S16 they are playing 7-8 players.

we will need to land a PG better than Enright to get where we want to go. I’m wanting a Dusty May level year 1. The resources are there. Build the team. Stay healthy.

So much of this. Depth is overrated unless injuries become a true thing. 7-9 is all that should matter. Enright being one of those numbers concerns me but….. what do I know.

I would argue that when you bring in a highly rated 5 star that you have a role and playing time in mind and don't recruit over that player. IU brought in several portal players after Tucker committed.  Woodson had no idea of roster construction.  He just brought in talent without any clue how the pieces would fit.

Indeed. Woodson had a “collection of players” and nothing close to a team.

Again, what does 5 star, highly rated recruit have to do with Tuckers development? Kid had just turned 18 yrs old playing against multiple 22/23 yr olds.

Actually, I would just highly, highly question anyone who rated Tucker a 5 star in a class where he's the youngest players. It's asinine.

I don't understand what the terms "recruit over" someone means. Complete myth of a term and not someone any college coaches operate by.

It shouldn't. Depth isn't overrated.

Tucker was basically left for dead on the bench.  We pretty much had him first in the portal 60 seconds before the final buzzer of the final game.  Then someone tweeted he's was in the portal and his dad said "slow down" champ.  And here we are with him not in the portal at this point.  I am thinking CDD gave him something to think long and hard about.

Well that didn't age well.  :)

If he is 8 or 9, then I don’t have an issue with it. I won’t get down on any player coming at this point. Once the final roster is set then maybe we can be critical. But the other names we’ve seen from burner accts sound good to me.

Tucker DeVries was at Drake as well.  He isn’t an 8 or 9.

Tucker DeVries was at Drake because his dad was the coach.  He was a 4 star recruit rated 100 overall in the country.  You cannot compare the two.

Kevin Overton was at Drake and played a key role in Texas Tech’s E8 run. Liam Robbins started out at Drake before eventually transferring to Vanderbilt via Minnesota eventually becoming an all SEC player while getting some run in the NBA. 3/5 of this years All-America team started their careers at Iona, Morehead St, and Ohio. Guys get misevaluated out of high school all the time.

Those guys speak well to DeVries' ability to find/evaluate talent.
