I anticipated this move. Indiana needs a complete refresh, everyone out, fresh paint on the walls.

Wasn't Garl named in one of the Bomba lawsuits?  I thought for that reason he'd be out regardless of a coaching change.

yep. probably the reason why there isn't any pomp and circumstance around him leaving too. i would think Tim Garl of all people would get a huge send off under normal circumstances.

I think he's getting the "he's an IU legend" treatment in the nicest way possible with trying to distance IU from the lawsuit at the same time IMO...

If he is cleared they can have a Tim Garl day later and have him come back like former players do

I am a fan of getting the best person in every role, with all factors considered. One of the factors is proven service to the program, but if that is outweighed by other factors and someone new is a better choice? Then it's time for a change.

International is the new trend.  I think there is a lot of legit talent coming over.  Definitely something I'd like Indiana to be on the leading edge of.

Geez Doc, we were on the leading edge.  I mean we've had Tijan, Hanner, Bawa...

well....when you put it that way...in that case, Flory next?

I guess I was referring more to the European basketball model that were "pros" and therefore ineligible for college hoops.

Lots of Indiana ties and international

Specifically, Adidas, Indiana Elite and A-Hope Foundation.

EDIT: Hadn't searched or looked it up in a long time, but I can no longer find an A-Hope website. Mark is still on the Indiana Elite website as Program Director. Funny enough, just saw that Alan Huss (current High Point Coach), used to be listed as the VP of A-Hope.
